blessed...

Hello!  Popping in with a card for a few challenges:  Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash, CAS(E) this Sketch and Time Out (encouragement).   It seems like lately when I have played along with CTS my cards have had leaves on them and this time is no different, lol!   I pulled out my RC Fall Foliage stamps and dies, but used just one leaf from the set, the oak leaf.  I stamped it five times on watercolor paper from Canson with Antique Linen distress ink and then colored them with the following distress inks:  Forest Moss, Gathered Twigs, Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber and Fired Brick.   Coloring them with the distress inks allowed me to achieve a no line watercolor look.  I have been watching Debby Hughes' watercoloring videos and in her most recent one she talked about laying down a light wash of a warm yellow on the leaves she was coloring.  I did that for my leaves using the Scattered Straw and I do like the way it warms up the other colors.  When they were fully dry I splattered them with addition Forest Moss, Gathered Twigs and Fired Brick.  After the splatters were dry I die cut all the leaves.  I used the RC Tall Stripe Panel die (now being retired) to cut kraft cardstock as a background for my leaves and attached it to my off white cardstock base with foam adhesive.  I then adhered the leaves using Nuvo Deluxe adhesive for the two bottom leaves and foam adhesive for the top three.  The word blessed (from Reverse Confetti) was die cut from vellum twice, adhered together and then adhered to the leaves using Nuvo Deluxe adhesive and rolled up medium sized Thermo Web Zots.   I belatedly decided to stamp a sentiment after I had finished up the card.  I used part of a sentiment from the Fall Foliage set simply using Post It Note tape to cover up the part of the sentiment I didn't need before inking up the rest with VersaFine CLAIR Acorn ink.  Super happy with how it turned out!  (Compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.)

This is such a beautiful card and captures the colour and feeling of Autumn perfectly. Those leaves are coloured so well, they almost look real and the splatter effect is fantastic. And the warmth of the kraft CS creates a gorgeous backdrop. So very glad you shared this with us at TIME OUT!
