you make me smile...

Hello!  Back from my trip to Yellowstone and trying to get back into a crafting groove.  So I created a card based on the current sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch.  I used a stamp and die set from Stampin Up! along with several different Ranger distress oxide inks.   For my background I used broken china and salty ocean distress oxides.  For the bottom layer of the leaf I used dried marigold, abandoned coral and wild honey distress inks.   After die cutting the inked up cardstock using a leaf from the die set I die cut the skeleton leaf from some bright green cardstock and then adhered the two together.  The branch was die cut from kraft cardstock and then I arranged everything on the cardstock inked with the broken china and salty ocean distress inks so I could determine where to stamp the sentiment.   The sentiment was then stamped in Versafine CLAIR Nocturne and then I adhered the branch and leaf.   I finished with a little twine bow.   Since this is pretty clean and simple I will add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

just saying hello...

Hey there!  My boys and I are on the road to Montana right now, but before I left I got a chance to practice my no line watercoloring using the colors from the August Altenew Inspiration challenge and the layout from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I did use Stormy Sky distress ink for the background so I will also post this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.   Because I'm still trying to figure out no line watercoloring I decided to use an image that I thought would be good practice for me... Altenew's Leaf Canopy.  I stamped the large outline image once and then did a little masking to stamp the smaller outline image once, as well, on Canson watercolor paper.  Both were stamped using Antique Linen distress ink.  I then colored the leaves with the following distress inks:  Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves.  The stems were colored with Forest Moss distress ink.  Once I had all the coloring done I carefully added the color wash around the images with the Stormy Sky.  I let the panel dry, again, and then cut it into two pieces per the FMS layout.  The sentiment is from the Altenew Japanese Mum and was stamped with VersaFine CLAIR Nocturne.   I then adhered the top half of the panel to a kraft cardstock base with foam tape and the bottom half flush to the card base.  I finished with some rustic twine tied in a bow on the spine of the card.    I'm really happy with how things turned out! bloom where you are planted...

Hello everyone!  Popping in with a card for a couple of challenges:  Color Throwdown and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.  I absolutely love the colors in this week's CTD challenge!  They are so bright and fun!  I have wanted to color up the Essentials by Ellen Mondo Wildflower stamp set for ages now and this was the perfect opportunity.  I recently tried my hand at no line watercoloring with pretty good results (I will be sharing that card soon!) so decided to give it a go with the Mondo Wildflower, but unfortunately I need more practice.   Since no line was a no go I went with my tried and true coloring with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush markers on smooth bristol cardstock and got much better results.   After I finished coloring I die cut the image with the matching die.  I die cut some Simon Says Stamp fog cardstock with a Jillian Vance Design stitched dot rectangle, stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Onyx Black (I used the same ink for the image) and then adhered the die cut image with foam dimensionals.   The panel was then adhered to a fog cardstock base.  I really like the way the fog cardstock makes the bright colors pop!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

enjoy...

Hey there!  popping in with a card that I made for a few of challenges:  Fab Friday, Time Out and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge to use a die cut. I don't know about you, but a fun beach scene always says relaxation to me! I did a lot of masking and ink blending on this one.   I started by creating a mask from Eclipse tape using a circle die from Jillian Vance Design.  I made sure to cut the piece of Eclipse tape to fit my card front as I would be ink blending several different times.  I first placed the circle on my smooth bristrol cardstock panel and then added a strip of Post-It tape cross the bottom of the circle.  I then blended Salty Ocean distress oxide ink around the circle and to the top of the Post It tape.  I then moved the Post It tape strip to cover part of the sky and used Tea Dye distress oxide to create my sand.  I didn't use a lot of the Tea Dye as I didn't really want that much sand.  I removed the circle mask, adhered the entire panel mask and blended the sun using Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber distress oxides.  I removed the mask and die cut the panel with a rectangle die from Jillian Vance Design.  The die cut deck chair and drink are from a Stampin Up! stamp and die set.  I stamped the drink and the orange slice using Stampin Up! inks and die cut with the matching dies.  They were adhered together with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.  The deck chair was die cut from kraft cardstock and then the two were adhered to the panel with foam dimensionals.   The sentiment is from the Concord & 9th Pop Art Pineapple stamp set.   Finished by adhering the panel to my off white cardstock base.  (I use a combination of affiliate links in the body of my post as well as the links listed below.)

thanks so mush...

Hey there!  Popping in with a card that I made for Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches.  When I saw all the cute little mushrooms in the CTD inspiration photo I immediately wanted to use my Essentials by Ellen Snailed It stamp and die set.  Because the mushrooms are not small I did not go with a square card, but a rectangular one.  I stamped the mushroom stems in kraft ink and then the tops in red, green and black.  I die cut some Tim Holtz distress woodgrain cardstock with the largest A Jillian Vance Design stitched dot rectangle die and then after adhering the mushrooms together adhered them to the panel using foam dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment from the Snailed It stamp set in kraft ink and then trimmed it out.  The word friend (from the Essentials by Ellen Mondo Daisy die set) was die cut three times, adhered together and then adhered to the card front along with the sentiment strip.  Finished by adhering the panel to a kraft cardstock base.  Also adding this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.  (Compensated affiliate links used where possible.  Thank you for your support I truly appreciate it!)
