3 Challenges and a Thanks....

Continuing with my efforts to make one card for multiple challenges my card today is for three challenges and it is a little "thank you" to Hero Arts for picking me for "Win A Day on the Blog".   I had made a card like this several months ago.... I think it was based on a Clean & Simple sketch layout... whatever the case I really like the layout.  So the first challenge this card is for is ColourQ43.  The colors this week are Old Olive, Bermuda Bay, Early Espresso, Peach Parfait plus white.  Peach Parfait and Early Espresso are two new colors from Stampin Up! that I don't have yet, so I substituted in SU!'s Groovy Guava and PTI's Dark Chocolate.  The second challenge is Paper Play's anything goes challenge and the third is CAS-tastic's Bling It Up challenge.   The bling was supplied by some Ranger Diamond Stickles.

Thanks for taking a peek..... have a wonderful day!

Another.... One Card, Two Challenges

I had meant to get this card done yesterday, but after getting the exciting news that I had been picked as one of the "Win a Day on the Blog" winners by Hero Arts I was just well.... too excited!   By the time I calmed down enough to do anything it was getting on in the evening and I just really ran out of steam.   So, here I am, again, submitting a card for ODBD's Shining the Light (ODBDSLC22) challenge at the last minute.  The challenge this week was to use distressing on your card.  It is hard to see, but I distressed the edges of the patterned paper and applied distressing ink to the cream oval that the image and sentiment were stamped on.  This card also fits FTTC77, to use pins... thus the one card, two challenges title.  Once again it has been along time since I was able to complete a Flourishes challenge before the deadline expired.

Thanks for taking a peek...

A Happy Birthday Blog Hop......

If you have ever participated in either Color Throwdown or ColourQ, you have seen the amazing dt work of LeAnne (WeeInklings).   Today is LeAnne's birthday and Arielle, the Colour Queen, thought it would be fun to have a surprise blog hop in LeAnne's honor and asked us to create a birthday card just for LeAnne!  For the card I made I got out some of my favorite crafting items.... Cosmo Cricket's DeLovely 6x6 patterned paper, PTI's cardstock (white & lemon tart) and Stampin Up!'s Great Friend set.   I just love DeLovely and it is just perfect for a birthday card.

Happy Birthday LeAnne!  I hope your day is wonderful and full of everything you love!

Paper Play Challenge....

The current Paper Play (week 29) challenge is to use blue and cream plus one other color.  The current CAS challenge at Splitcoaststampers is to make a card based off the Dr. Seuss book, One Fish, Two Fish... I don't have any fish stamps, so I went with the 2nd half of that line which is red fish, blue fish and used those colors plus cream for my card.... thus fitting perfectly into both CAS77 and Paper Play's challenge.

I used the Stampin Up! sets Echos of Kindness and Small Sayings for the card, as well as some yummy extra wide red and cream striped ribbon... i love that stuff!  And since Stampin Up! has decided to keep offering it in more colors, I'm going to be happily buying it for a long time!  Echos of Kindness is a beautiful set that I don't use enough (like most of my stamps.... could it be I have too many??? naugh!!)

Thanks for taking a peek!  Have a lovely day.....

DeNami Design Sketch Challenge #3

I made a little "beachy" card today using the sketch from the current DeNami Design challenge (sketch challenge #3).   The stamps are from the {Stamps} of Life set Summer4Fun.  The set is full of cute beach images like the sandcastle that I used for the card, as well as a surfboard and beach ball.   {Stamps} of Life has lots of other really cute sets that are reasonably priced and if you join the club you get lots of special perks.    Anywho..... back to my card.  I used Flower Soft for the first time on my card.  My LSS, Artco, started carrying Flower Soft six months or so ago.  When I got the Summer4Fun set I knew I need make a trip to the store and see if they had the Sand color... which they did.  I need to work on my technique with the glue, but overall I think the card turned out pretty well.

Thanks for taking a look and hope you have a wondeful day!

Supplies:  Cardstock:  PTI white & lemon tart; PP:  DCWV Cafe' Med. mat stack; Ink:  Memento Rich Cocoa & Dandelion; Sand Flower Soft; SU! circle punch; EK Success Scalloped Circle punch; Stamps {Stamps} of Life Summer4Fun;

FTL100 & CTD102

It's a beautiful day here in Western Washington (state)!  Temps are going to get into the 80s!  Summer is finally in full swing here.   Made a quick card for Color Throwdown using Clean & Simples current sketch, FTL100.   Since this is Clean & Simple's 100 sketch, they are having a little blog hop to celebrate, so check it out!

I don't yet have the new SU! blue Marine Mist, so I used a blue ink from Fresh Ink called Capri Blue that is pretty close.  The sentiment is from a Close to My Heart set called Buttoned Together.  Since the cards was so simple, I added a bit of bling.  And can I just say how HAPPY I am that Stampin Up! brought back Wild Wasabi??  REALLY HAPPY!!!  One of my favorite shades of green.

Thanks for taking a look.  I hope that your day is going to be as lovely as mine!!

Supplies:  Cardstock:  SU! Whisper White; Not Quite Navy; Ink:  Fresh Ink Capri Blue; Ribbon:  SU! Wild Wasabi

One Card, Two Challenges....

A short post today with a card for two challenges:  ColourQ (CQC42) and City Crafters (CCCB14).  The lovely gals at City Crafters were so kind to me earlier this week and voted the card I entered in their last challenge into the "Artist Spotlight"!  What made it even more exciting to me is that it was the first time I had ever entered their challenge!   This week the City Crafters challenge is a sketch and worked perfectly for my card for ColourQ.  Yet another absolutely YUMMY color combo from Arielle!

For the card I got out my Ranger Distress inks (Spiced Marmalade, Scattered Straw & Barn Door) and did some sponging/distressing.   The floral image is from the cool SU! set Fifth Avenue Floral... another set I don't use enough.   The background paper is October Afternoon's Thrift Shop and the rhinestones are Kaiser Craft.  The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps Asian Garden Additions set.

Thanks for stopping by.... I so enjoy reading your comments!  Hope your weekend is lovely!

Insert Witty Post Title Here....

I don't know about anyone else, but I sometimes have a hard time coming up with titles for my posts.   And today is one of those days.... My card is for the current JUGs challenge to use the colors:  navy, green, orange and cream..... colors that I don't normally put together.  I had wanted to use the current Waltzingmouse Stamps sketch for my card, but that sketch wasn't doing any thing for me so I used the current sketch from Splitcoaststampers for the card.   I used my new Asian Garden Additions set from Waltzingmouse Stamps and a mix of pp from DCWV and Stampin Up! for the card.   A pretty simple, straight forward card.

Thanks for taking a peek!

One Card, Three Challenges

A little Christmas card today using some JustRite Stamps that fits three different challenges.  The first challenge is a sketch challenge from Repeat Impressions (j1410) Stamps (a new to me stamp company with some really neat stamps!), the second challenge is from the JustRite (027) blog to make a Christmas card and the third is for ODBD SLC21 to "color it". After winning a set of JustRite stamps and an oval stamper several weeks ago from the JustRite sponored JUGs challenge I decided that it was time for me to get out my long negelected JustRite stamps and give them some love.  The patterned paper is from the Websters Pages Holiday combo collection.  I colored the image with my Prisma pencils, which was a little difficult to do since I hurt my thumb and holding a pencil is a little difficult! Finished everything off with some yummy silk ribbon from Stamp Simply Ribbon store and some PTI vintage buttons.

Thanks for taking a peek!  Hope you are having a wonderful day!

Sweet Little Sundress

I just love the Hero Arts set A Kiss from the Sun and most especially the little sundress image.   A couple of weeks ago I put together the sundress using some SU! 6x6 dp and some SU! Real Red grosgrain ribbon, intending to use the dress for another card.   Well.... that card never got made due to a really bad migraine.  So the dress kinda floated around until I saw the current challenge from Paper Play.... a lovely sketch and a new idea for the dress began to form.

Then yesterday I visited the blog of the lovely and talent Dana, Paper Daydream, and saw her card for the current City Crafter's (CCCB13) challenge.  Dana is the guest designer this week for City Crafters!!   Intriqued I went to check out the challenge and saw that it was a color challenge perfect for my little dress!  So, I threw it all together and came up with my card.  My red and blue are a little bit darker than the color inspiration picture and I couldn't figure out how to fit rose into the overall design, but that was optional.  I added a bit of bling with some Candy Cane Stickles and some tiny rhinestones from Close to My Heart.

Thanks for taking a peek!  Hope your weekend has been lovely!

Pretty in Pink (& grey & black) with ColourQ

Yet another fantastic color combination from Arielle at ColourQ!  This time around she found inspiration in these amazing handmade fabric flowers from Japan, Tsumami Kanzahi.  The flower Arielle chose contains two shades of pink, black & gray and is absolutely gorgeous as you can see from the photo.  I was really excited to see this combo, but as per usual.... got stumped.  I made a card last night that I was not happy with and so gave it another try this morning using the current sketch from Clean & Simple (FTL99).

Pulled out an older Hero Arts set called Flower Blossom Border for the main image.  The card is 6.5" x 6.5" in order to accomodate the floral image I chose to use.  A couple of SU! punches (Modern Labels & Scallop Trim border) were used as well.

Thanks for taking a peek and I hope you have a wonderful day.  Today is a happy day.... I got my new JustRite Stamps & Stamper in the mail!!  Yipeee!!

Squeakin' In, Again......

With my card for ODBD's Shining the Light challenge.  I seem to be getting later and later at getting my card posted.   Going to have to work on getting it done sooner in the week!  Anywho... this week's challenge was a sketch challenge.  I think what took me so long was trying to figure out what I was going to do with the sketch.  It finally hit me last night after I took a look at some of my 6x6 Cosmo Cricket pads.  I finally settled on the yummy Material Girl papers and the super fun ric rac die from PTI.  They came out with a new larger ric rac die this month and I so want it (along with the new ticket die!)!!  On my wish list it goes.   Back to my card, I also took a step outside my box with the color combo, but I really love how the card turned out.  I used the ODBD set Grow in Grace, one of my favorite ODBD sets.

Thanks for taking a peek.  Hope you have a lovely day!

Inking Spraying & Smashing with JUGS

So the JUGs challenge (JUGs41) this week is a technique challenge, a technique called Ink, Spray, Smash.   I went to Splitcoaststampers, looked at the technique and thought:  "okay, I can do that".... well, not so much.  I don't have a huge number of reinkers and so finding a good color combo took a bit of time and several sheets of wasted glossy paper.  Finally hit on the combo of Pacific Point & Kiwi Kiss.  Since I was feeling pretty mojo less today I used SC289, the current sketch from Splitcoaststampers, to help me get back in gear.  I kept everything pretty CAS, as well.

I used the Hero Arts stamp Long Stem Flowers for the card.  Thanks for taking a peek!

Supplies:  Cardstock:  PTI white; SU! Pacific Point & Kiwi Kiss; Ink:  SU! Kiwi Kiss & Pacific Point (ink pads & reinkers); Glossy cardstock:  CTMH; Stamps:  Hero Arts Long Stem Flower; Impress thank you

Thanks for taking a peek!   Cindy would be tickled to have you enter her contest!

Christmas in July...

Just squeaking in with a card for the current Flourishes challenge, FTTC74, Christmas in July.  I used the Flourishes set Poinsettia & Boxwood, along with the current sketch from WMS sketch challenge #5.  I stamped the small poinsettia from the set on PTI's Vintage Cream with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink and then colored with a Prisma pencil and the blending pencil.   Since I used the WMS sketch, I incorporated a stamp from the WMS set Very Vintage Labels 3 stamped in VersaMagic Sage on PTI's Vintage Cream cs and the die cut with my Cuttlebug and corresponding die.  I'm so excited because this week I will be getting four new sets of stamps from WMS!!!

This is one of those times I wish I had a sewing machine so I could do a bit of stitching on the card, but alas I have no space for even a tiny machine!   I used some lovely crocheted ribbon I got from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Thanks for taking a peek.   Flourishes is having a 12 days of Christmas sale now through the 18th of July.  All Christmas stamps are 25% off.  Go check it out!  Hope you have a lovely day!

The DeLovely ColourQ.....

I was so bummed last week when I didn't get to make a card for CQC39 due to a really bad migraine and so was really determined that I would get my card done for this week's challenge, CQC40.   Another lovely combo from Queen Arielle!  Boy does she have the talent for pickin'em!  Guess that is why she is the Queen!

Anywhoo... I was a bit stumped as to how I would proceed and then it hit me...some of the patterned paper from the new Cosmo Cricket DeLovely line would be perfect for two of the colors (Melon Mambo & Barely Banana, although the yellow is a bit brighter than Barely Banana, so I actually went with PTI's Lemon Tart).   And then I saw this week's sketch from Clean & Simple and my card was born.   So nice when things come together that way, isn't it?? I used one of my favorite SU! sets:  Great Friend.  I just pretty much love everything about the set from the butterfly to the sentiments.   Today is an outstandingly beautiful day in Western Washington, so I decided to take my card outside to take the picture.

This has nothing to do with my card just a "yay for me" kinda thing, but today I won a lovely set from JustRite Stamps called Breathe of Spring, along with an oval stamper from the swell gals at JUGs!  If you haven't given JUGs or ColourQ a try, you really should.

Thanks for taking a peek today.... your lovely comments are so appreciated!

Color Throwdown - 100th Combo Celebration

The fabulous gals at Color Throwdown have thrown down 100 color challenges and to celebrate they are having a HUGE prize give away.  All the details can be found here.   Given all the fun going on over at Color Throwdown I just had to play along.   This week's celebratory color combo included these lovely colors:  Certain Celery, Baja Breeze, Regal Rose & Real Red.   What yummy colors!   Almost the entire card is comprised of Stampin Up! products (except the white cardstock and the rhinestones!).   The stamp set I used is a fairly new set called Vintage Vogue.    I also pulled out my SU! Top Note die for the card.

Thanks for taking a peek and I hope that you take some time to check out the Color Throwdown and play along!

Getting My Kraft On - CWC011

The new challenge at CAS-tactic is to use kraft cardstock.  No problem here, I love to use kraft cardstock!  Like most good neutral cardstocks, kraft goes with pretty much EVERYTHING!   So today I used some PTI kraft cs (the best stuff!), along with PTI's Lemon Tart cs & the Lemon Tart pp from the Dotty Biscotti collection.   The stamp is a Hero Arts bicycle stamp that I bought awhile ago and finally decided to ink up.  Boy, was it a pain taking a picture of this card!  Took three separate photo shoots before I finally got one that I was satisfied with!

Thanks for taking a peek!  Hope you are having a wonderful day!

A DeLovely Day...

in the state of Washington and a DeLovely day for a JUGs challenge featuring JustRite Stampers!  I have a few JustRite Stampers (and would love to get some more) so I pulled them out and used one of the centers & borders from the 10 Designer Centers & Borders set (using 1 5/8" stamper).  The papers are, as I hinted from the fabulous Cosmo Cricket line:  DeLovely.   So bright and cheerful and perfect for this bright, cheerful day!  Cardstock is, of course, from PTI:  Stampers Select white & Raspberry Fizz.  To jazz up the main RF panel I stamped it with the Climbing Leaves backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms.  (Sadly, CHF will be closing its doors in early August.  Hopefully, the owners will find a buyer.)

The sketch is courtesy of the swell gals at JUGs since this week is their sketch challenge week.  One of the fun things about JUGs is that each week they have a different challenge (sketch, color, techinque, template & if there is a 5th Saturday in the month, its "wild card" time!).    I used a couple of EKSuccess scalloped circle punches and the SU! 1 3/4" circle punch for the image.  Ribbon is some yummy PTI Lemon Tart.  I added a bit of bling to the green buttons.

Thanks for taking a peek.... hope your day is sunny, too!

CAS-tastic Monday, So Let's Have Some Cake!

Today I have a card for two CAS challenges:   CAS-tastic challenge CWC010 (a sketch this week) and the CAS challenge at Splitcoaststampers (an inspiration challenge).    The SCS challenge was to find inspiration from a gallery of beautiful weddings cakes from the website, Carries Cakes.   The cake I chose was a little black & white number.

Putting the card together was super easy since I used the sketch for the current CAS-tastic challenge.  I got this stamp from DeNami Design about a month ago called Filigree Centerpiece and have been wanting to ink it up, so I used it for the card.   DeNami just release several new lines of stamps and they are having a giveaway to celebrate.  If you get a chance, check them out... they have lots of great stamp lines.

I love that Stampin Up! now has this yummy double-sided satin ribbon and I used some of the grey for the card, as well as one of my favorite punches:  EKSucces bracket punch.  I added a bit of pearls and bling to the card.  The sentiment is from PTI's anniversary set:   Round & Round.

Thanks for taking a peek!  Hope you have the day off and are having a fabulous Monday!

Supplies:  Cardstock:  PTI White & True Black; SU! Grey; Ink:  CTMH black; Stamps:  DeNami Design Filigree Centerpiece; PTI  Round & Round; Ribbon:  SU! Grey Satin; CTMH little rhinestones; BG gray pearls;  Punch:  EKSuccess Bracket

It Was One of Those Weekends

Where pretty much nothing went the way I wanted to it.  On Saturday I had hoped to make a card for one of my favorite color challenges, ColourQ, but instead I was literally flat on my back for most of the day with one of the worst migraines I have EVER had!   It sucked!!  So, I got nothing done.... a big fat NOTHING!!  Thank goodness I had waiting in the wings a card already made for another one of my favorite color challenges from the lovely and talent Dawn of WPlus9Design Studio, which is oddly enough is also called Color Cue!!  I just realized that!  Anyway, both color challenges are fantastic whichever one you decide to go with.  In fact, try both!!!   If you have not had a chance to purchase any of Dawn's wonderful stamp sets, please head to her store pronto (click either link above) and check thenm out.   For my card I used a set that Dawn debut last month called the Birds & the Bees.  What an adorable set!!!   And she just reveal two new sets for July... again, both super cute!

I hope that everyone in the US had a wonderful 4th of July weekend!  Heres to a better week, no migraines and lots of cardmaking.   Thanks for taking a peek!

CTD99 & 2S4Y

Boy, those gals at Color Throwdown have been throwing down some really challenging color combos and this week was no exception!  Combo #99 is vanilla (cream), chocolate & turquoise.  Next week Color Throwdown will be celebrating their 100th combo with a huge party of sorts, featuring prizes from lots of sponsors.  It looks to be loads of fun and if you haven't throwdown color with the Color Throwdown next week would be the perfect time to give them a try.

My card layout is based on the current sketch from 2S4Y.  While the card looks pretty simple, it wasn't so easy to put together.  Is that how it works?   The "simple" card actually turns out to be the "not so simple" card!  lol!   After all that work I am pretty happy with how it turned out, though.

Thanks for taking a peek!
