Hey there!! Have a card today for a couple of challenges... JUGs and ColourQ. I really squeaked this one in with ColourQ. I had it done the night before, but wasn't happy with the photos I took (I really need to get one of those photo tent thingies). I took a few more this morning, but wasn't happy with those either. So I decided to use one I took last night. Anywhoo.... I combined the card with the current JUGs challenge to create a collage look on your card. I haven't done a JUGs challenge in a loooong time and I'm not entirely sure why other than I just don't have the time to play in all the challenges that I would like to play in. But when I saw my bloggy friend, Elise's card (she is on the fabby JUGs design team!!) I just had to play along this week!
So... for my card I went super simple. I used three different stamp sets: Stampin Up!'s Artistic Engravings and PTI's Background Basics: Text Styles & Iconic Images. The color combo from ColourQ included Pumpkin Pie & Melon Mambo... both dark colors so when I stamped the images using those two colors I stamped them first on scrap paper and then on the cardstock to tone down the color. For such a simple card it took me quite a few test runs on scrap paper to get just the right look I was going for. In the end I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. CAS, but collage. (Its probably going to send my bloggy friend Sue into fits! Because collage should not be CAS!)
Supplies: Cardstock: PTI white; Stamps: SU! & PTI; Ink: SU! Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo & Pumpkin Pie; Memento London Fog
I love the fact that it's collage and CAS Rosemary and the subtle colours are so pretty :)
ReplyDeleteLove this style but not brave enough to try it myself!

I was so pleased when I read
'For such a simple card it took me quite a few test runs on scrap paper to get just the right look I was going for'. Because that is exactly what I did to make that 'not so hard' as you so graciously put it, CAS card!
Yes I love a cornucopia of things on my cards, and this is just stunning for me as this is what I think CAS should be like, I look at this piece and it not only has a focal point but it has a little dimension and interest, you have wonderful form and composition in your Cards Rosie, I have said this before and that is why your cards are so attractive to the viewer.
This one is special.
Smiles:)
