Hey there!! Gotta card today that I made using some new yummy designer paper from Stampin Up! and one of my most favorite dies from My Favorite Things: the Perfect Pinwheel die! When MFT came out with this die I about fell over in amazement. I had seen another die that made this type of pinwheel, but that die was a single "wing" of the pinwheel which meant that you had to die cut multiples of the wing in order to make your pinwheel. Because the MFT die has three "wings" on the die you only have to cut twice in order to make your pinwheel. Yipeee!!! To be honest MFT has some of the best and most innovative dies around. If you haven't check them out, you really should!
My card was made using the current MFT Wednesday Sketch challenge sketch and I made it specifically for my niece who will be turning 14 on Sunday. I really hope that she likes (and to be honest... I pretty sure she will!). I'm going to put this into the current Simon Says Stamp challenge that is Mother's Day/Special Girl because well... my niece is definitely a special girl! The sentiment is also from My Favorite Things, the Polka Dot Greetings set. Usually when I make a pinwheel I put it on a little stick so that it looks like a real working pinwheel, but this time I decided to leave off the stick and added the rhinestone flourishes to impart the idea of the pinwheel turning in the wind.
Thanks for stopping by....
