Hello friends... summer is winding to a close! Friday evening I took my little guy down to school to meet his kindergarten teacher... I can't believe he is going to start in just a few days!! And then later that night as he was getting ready for bed he came running into my room all excited to show me that he had a loose tooth!! His very first one... I think he is more excited about the loose tooth than he is about starting school, lol! Anyway... got sometime today to make a few cards. I"m going to share two today and the other is for the next CASology challenge so you will just have to wait until this Tuesday to see it!
The challenge this week at Less is More is a color challenge. Chrissie and Mandi are asking us to use pink and brown on our cards. Seemed simple enough until I started trying to make a card. I think I need a break from cardmaking or something because I feel like I'm totally out of ideas! Have you ever felt that way? The first idea didn't even make it to a finished card and parts of it ended up in the garbage. For my second try at a card I decided to use a tried and true formula and ended up with two cards. The first card was made using a Hero Arts wood mounted stamp and a sentiment from a Hero Arts/BasicGrey cling set. For the second card I decided to give the card a bit of a shabby look by using some patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Lavendar 6x6 pad, punching one edge with my SU! spiral notebook punch and distressing the edges with Rangers Old Paper distress ink and a distressing tool. The stamps used for the second card are from Penny Black. Pink rhinestones were added to both cards to give them just a little something extra.
Thanks for stopping by...

ReplyDeleteHI Rosemary, Two fabulous cards, I love them both and you have, yet again, come up with brilliant ideas and execution, well done!
ReplyDeleteI agree it can be very difficult to keep coming up with new ideas and when you have a young family it's even harder:0) I find that once I start crafting the ideas flow and I actually find it quite a cathartic process but I am retired, a whole different situation. I hope that if you decide take a break that you come back rested and share your lovely inspiring cards with us again, Gay x
Two beautiful cards, you do LIM so well.
