hello friends! got some time this morning to make a card for this week's Less is More challenge (a sketch) and i used the new color combo from Dynamic Duo (more mustard & so saffron).
lately i have seen alot of people using their dies in a fun new way and i wanted to get it a try. basically what you do is die cut your image on your main card stock, then die cut the image a second time using a contrasting color and place the die cut image into the negative space on the first piece of card stock. the look created is really neat. so i got out my memory box prim poppy die and die cut a strip of black card stock. a second image was die cut using more mustard card stock and the placed in the negative space on the black cardstock. because of the nature of the sketch diva chrissie provided for the LIM challenge i then cut the image in to three sections. but before i did that i made the black strip a bit more stable by adhered a piece of card stock to the back. the three piece were aligned and then matted using a strip of so saffron card stock. everything was then mounted on a white card stock base. the sentiment (also memory box) was stamped, die cut using a spellbinders long rectangle die and then adhered to the card.
thanks for stopping by....
supplies: card stock: pti white & black; stampin up! more mustard & so saffron; dies: memory box prim poppy & spellbinders long rectangles; ink: memento tuxedo black
It looks wonderful Rosemary.. I think I'll have a go of this technique, it looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThanks as ever.
