Hello friends!! The cold weather continues and I'm getting kinda tired of it, but at least there isn't any snow! Have a couple of cards I made earlier this week that I thought I would share. Both were made for challenges over at Splitcoaststampers, the CAS challenge and the color challenge.
The CAS challenge this week at Splitcoast was a color one to use brown, red, lime green and turqoise blue. I used a couple of my favorite Stampin Up! sets (Vintage Fresh & Summer Silhouettes), a favorite Hero Arts sentiment set (Year Round Sentiments) and did some simple stamping. I'm basically a simple stamper at heart and while I do like to do tihings like layer and use patterned paper stamping is what makes me really happy.... and this card makes me really happy. I absolutely love how it turned out.
The colors in the Splitcoast color challenge are wisteria (a bluish-purple color), light pink and red. I used the Year Round Sentiments set on this card as well and yep... simple stamping. To add a bit more interest I trimmed out the pink heart and popped it up, added the gems and punched the corners of the main piece with a ticket corner punch. I really like how this one turned out, as well.
Thanks for stopping by....
Supplies: Cardstock: PTI white; Stamps: Stampin Up! and Hero Arts; Inks: Stampin Up! and Memento; Rhinestones: Stampin Up!; punch: Stampin Up!
Hi Rosemary, I love both of your cards but especially the first one. I love the leaves and the sweet sentiment Kx
ReplyDeleteI love both of these, Rosemary. I especially like the second card with the simple stamping and notched corners. I just bought year-round sentiments yesterday for $5 at Michaels. How fun to see it used today. Can't wait to play with it myself. ann
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Rosie, I am so with you i have had enough of the weather. Our January thaw is over and it is frigid cold I keep cranking up the heat. Come on summer!
ReplyDeleteLove how both turned out Rosemary! You can do both types of card making so well but you really excell in making stamped creations! Stay warm!

I love stamping, too, & hopefully someday I will put images together like this. You are amazing! I would never have known what to do with those colors. Wishing for some warmth down here, too--not even 40 during the day is too cold!
ReplyDeleteHi, Rosemary!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your cold weather. Believe it or not, we've also been having a few cold days. AND...I actually kind of like it, since we have SO MANY very HOT days in my part of the USA. :-)
Both cards are simply BEAUTIFUL! I keep staring at the first one. I love EVERYTHING about it! AND, of course, the one rounded corner is the perfect finishing touch!
Great job!
Stay warm!
Beautiful cards, Rosemary! I just love a clean, crisp background! Beautiful mix of stamps!

ReplyDeleteLovely cards Rosie, both so clean and simple, love the stars and stripes on the hearts:) Great effect as well with the over stamping which never seems to work when I do it! We had lots of snow today but I hope we don't get more.
