Hi everyone!! Happy Friday... pretty excited for the Super Bowl this weekend since the Seattle Seahawks are playing in the big game... GO HAWKS! Anywhoo... have a pretty plain and simple card that I made for a couple of challenges: CASology and CAS(E) this Sketch.
I started out with a different idea for this card, but gave it up when I realized it just wasn't going to work. I really tried to make it work, but nope! As indicated above the card is very simple and on the plain side... did try to perk things up a bit with some bling, though. I used a Hero Arts background stamp on the purple cardstock, die cut the "hello" with a My Favorite Things die and the "friends" sentiment came from a PTI set. I should have die cut the white cardstock piece and inlaid the "hello", but didn't think about that until I was done... oh well!
Thanks for stopping by...

sweet life...
Hello friends!! Popping in with a card that I made using the current ColourQ combo. The colors are perfect for a valentine, but that's not what I made, lol! The layout is based on the current Sketchbook Saturday sketch. ETA: Going to pop this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge...twine or string
I pulled out my PTI Sweet Life stamps and dies and did some multi step stamping. Initially I wasn't sure that I liked the stark contrast between the lighter pinks and the dark Primrose Petals ink, but now I really do. I tried my hand at creating a little twine/thread nest (or in my case mess, lol!), but not sure that I will do it again any time soon. One other thing I do like is the way the leaves turned out. After die cutting them I stamped them with Pink Pirouette ink and added the veins with kraft... I love the way it looks. As this is a very girly card I had to add a few sequins.

CMCC #5... anything goes!!
Hello friends!! Wednesday has rolled around and that means time for a new Colour Me...! challenge! Because January has five Wednesdays in it this year we have a sort of "wild card" challenge for you. You get to pick the colors up to five colors! All the details for the challenge can be found here.
Me??? I decided to be a little "wild and crazy" and go with a total of five colors. My colors are: Cool Cabana, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Smoky Slate & Marina Mist. I pulled out a couple of older SU! sets, Summer Silhouettes & Whimsical Words and did some collage stamping. I could have done a better job of stamping the little flowers, but I still like how my little stamped collage turned out. I finished off the design with some washi tape.
Thanks for stopping by... please check out the projects created by my fellow teamies Tara, Hayley, Sam, Katie, Brenda and January guest designer, Lesley.
Supplies: Cardstock: PTI white; Stamps: Stampin Up!; Inks: Stampin Up!, Hero Arts & Memento; Washi tape: Impress Rubber Stamps; Rhinestone: KI Memories

you inspire me...
Hello friends... popping in with a card that I made for the current color challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. I have been in the habit of only posting cards I make for the Splitcoaststampers challenges in their gallery, but I recently decided that I will try to post them on my blog, as well. The colors this week are Coastal Cabana, So Saffron and Tangerine Tango (all Stampin Up! colors).
For my card I used the really fun Precious Remembrance Shop set Positive Thoughts and did some collage stamping (my favorite!!). I used SU!'s So Saffron and Hero Arts Tide Pool and Orange Soda inks. The SCS color challenges usually have a "dessert" option and this week it was to use wood embellishments. I have alot that I have never used and so I was determined to work some into my design. I colored the pieces by simply placing them on the ink pad and pressing down... seemed the most obvious way to do it to me! Finished off the card with a strip of Coastal Cabana cardstock that I embossed with a woodgrain embossing folder and some orange baker's twine.
Thanks for stopping by...
Supplies: Cardstock: PTI Rustic White, SU! So Saffron & Coastal Cabana; Stamps: Precious Remembrance Shop; Inks: SU!, Hero Arts, Memento; Wood embellishments: Studio Calico; Baker's Twine: Impress; EF: Stampin Up!

rain or shine...
Hello friends!! Have a card to share that I made for the current Dynamic Duos challenge (Melon Mambo & black). The layout is based on the current Viva La Verve sketch. I also used the Dynamic Duos dessert option to use umbrellas.
I used a combination of some old and new SU! designer papers and the Verve stamp set Rain or Shine. I paper pieced the little umbrella and added some light distressing to the edges of the papers and cardstock. I added some My Mind's Eye enamel dots... but not really sure I like them.

PTI January Blog Hop... Pretty in Pink!
Hello friends!! It is the 25th of the month and that means time for the PTI blog hop! This month's theme is "pink". I will be honest and say that pink is not one of my favorite colors to craft with, but I recently received a PTI order that contained the PTI hearts cover plate, Happy Hearts stamp set and the Solid Stitches and Swirls stamp set. All those sweet new PTI goodies just put me in a pink mood and I couldn't stop myself... I made not one, but three cards for the hop!! First up is the card I made with Stitches & Swirls and Solid Stitches & Swirls.
My second card uses the hearts cover plate, as well as a sentiment from Happy Hearts. I simply die cut the Vintage Cream cardstock, popped out all the hearts, adhered it to the pale pink cardbase and then added the sentiment. Some Raspberry Fizz and Sweet Blush buttons were added and I was done... simple, but sweet I think! I absolutely love all the sentiments in Happy Hearts. They are perfect for so many different types of cards. I know I will be using them alot on future projects.
For the final card I stamped five of the hearts die cut using the cover plate with different heart images from Happy Hearts and Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink inks. They were adhered to some Vintage Cream cardstock and the sentiment was added to that piece. I adhered a strip of Dotty Biscotti patterned paper to the kraft cardstock, tied some Sweet Blush ribbon on and then mounted the piece on Melon Mambo cardstock. Once that was done I adhered the hearts piece to the front and I was done.

CMCC #4... beautiful
Hello friends!! Wednesday is here and that means time for a brand new color combo at Colour Me...! This week we have some nice, bright colors for you used on your project. All the details can be found here.
For my card I used the current Sketchbook Saturday layout and some yummy Avery Elle stamps. I created the wreath by stamping the wreath from AE set Winter Wreath four times in Memento Bamboo leaves. I stamped the bow using Memento Angel Pink, trimmed it out and adhered it to the wreath. The sentiment was stamped in black and then the sequins were added. I distressed the edges a bit, too.

some cards to share...
Hello friends!! Our nice sunny weather did not stick around... darn! Oh well... being that it was gloomy out made it the perfect day to stay in and make some cards... so I did!! Late last week I got the chance to meet my friend, Cindy, at Impress Rubber Stamps for a bit of crafty retail therapy and while there I purchased the stamp that I have used on my first card. The color combo is based on the new Dynamic Duos colors of pink and aqua.
When I saw the stamp I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I wandered around the store and picked up a few other items, but I kept coming back to this stamp and talking about it. Finally Cindy picked one up, handed it to me and said "here... just buy it!" So I did, lol!! Since it is a rather large image I kept the design simple. I paired the stamp up with PTI's Tipped Top die and a sentiment from Taylored Expressions stamped on a little banner. I added a bit of glitter to the hearts and then added the pink sequins.
The second card was made using the Viva La Verve week 3 sketch and some patterned papers from the new My Mind's Eye Lost & Found record it! Heirloom 6x6 pad. I used lots of different Verve stamps on this card (Surely Goodness, Brighter Days and On Occasion). I thought I would try a little "out of the box" thinking on this one. What I tried was an interesting idea, but not one I think I will duplicate any time soon, lol!
Thanks for stopping by... looking forward to Monday. I'm taking a little trip down south to Vancouver, Wa to meet up with my friend, Greta, for lunch and maybe a little crafty shopping!!

{heart} you...
Hello friends!!! We are having a beautiful sunny day here in the Pacific NW! So hoping that it last through the weekend and into next week. Have a little card to share that I made for a couple of challenges: Reverse Confetti Color challenge and CAS(E) this Sketch. My super simple card used three different RC sets: Whole Lotta Dots, Forever Fall & Dream in Color.
Since I had some PTI rustic white cardstock in my work space I decided to use that for my card base and main panel. Love the super simple design of this week's CAS(E) this Sketch layout. You can beef it up with more details and keep it as simple as you want. If you want to see an absolutely brilliant take on the sketch check out Anita's card... it is AMAZING! I shall not be surprised if I see her card in the winner's circle at CTS next Saturday.

CMCC #3... subtle
Hello friends!! Wednesday has arrived and with it a brand new color combo over at Colour Me! First though must say thanks to everyone who submitted such lovely cards for last week's challenge! This week we are working with three soft and subtle colors: So Saffron (light yellow), Pink Pirouette (light pink) and Smoky Slate (soft grey). All the challenge details can be found here. I thought these colors were perfect for a mother's day card. I used the current layout from CAS(E) this Sketch for my card.
I started by stamping the splatter image from the SU! set French Foliage twice using So Saffron ink. I die cut the leafy branches using my Taylored Expressions Leafy Branch die from Smoky Slate cardstock and some My Mind's Eye patterned paper from the Chalk Studie Basics 6x6 pad. They were layered togeteher and adhered over the splatter stamping. The sentiment from the My Favorite Things set Sweet Roses was stamped in black. I finished things off with a yellow button/twine embellishment.
Thanks for stopping by... please check out the projects created by my fellow teamies Tara, Hayley, Sam, Katie, Brenda and January guest designer, Lesley.
Supplies: Cardstock: PTI white, SU! Smoky Slate; PP: My Mind's Eye; Stamps: My Favorite Things; Ink: SU! & Memento; Dies: Taylored Expressions; Button: PTI; Twine: Close to My Heart

thinking of you...
Hello friends!! I have a little card to share that involved a rather crazy idea! I got the idea when I saw the new CASology cue word: dot. I pretty proud of my crazy idea because I think it is actually rather clever, too... and generally I don't come up with clever (and crazy) ideas! I also used the new ColourQ combo of basic grey, poppy parade, pool party, island indigo and white.
After seeing alot of fabulous cards made with the Memory Box Small Circle Burst die I finally decided to buy it. It is a really cool die that is essentially made up of many, many dots... one big dot and many, many teeny tiny dots! And crazy me thought it would be fun to inlay all those teeny tiny dots back into the image die cut white paper, lol!! I didn't keep track of how long it took me, but I'm pretty sure it was about half an hour. To get the teeny tiny dots to stay in place I simple applied scotch tape to the back of the white cardstock piece and then added the dots. The little bird was die cut using the Memory Box Perched Reed Bird. One of the left over Island Indigo dots was used for the bird's eye. Pretty darn pleased with the overall look of the card!

viva la verve... hello
Hello friends!! Well our crazy weather has settled down a bit, but not before taking out four sections of our fence. Hubby already has the sections moved and has a game plan for replacing them as quickly as possible. As the title implies I have a card for this month's Viva La Verve sketch challenge. My card uses the sketch for week 2 brought to us by the very talented Teresa Kline.
I used some papers from the My Mind's Eye cut & paste "Adorbs" 6x6 pad and two different Verve sets: Birthday Poppies and Take Note. Lots of cutting, distressing and layering going on. I thought it would be fun to brighten things up a bit by adding the bright yellow sequins to the centers of the flowers. The dies are Spellbinders plain ovals and a tab die from the Verve die set Tag It.

because...
Hello friends! Hope you are having a good weekend. We have been having a pretty wet and windy one so far. Have a card to share that I made using the current MFT sketch (MFTWSC158). I also used the colors from the first Card Concept challenge and made my card in the "clean and layered" style.
I used the MFT sets Splendid Sunflower and Peaceful Wildflowers. The sunflower was stamped and then trimmed out (still don't own the matching die!) and then three little rhinestones were added. After creating all the initial layers I used some Early Espresso baker's twine to create the two final elements in the layout. Once the twine was attached I added the trimmed out sunflower.

sharin' some verve...
Hello friends!! I have a couple of cards to share today that I made using several different stamp sets from Verve. Love, love, love my Verve!!
The first card I made combines the current Viva La Verve sketch (week 1) with the Verve Diva Inspiration challenge Shimmer & Shine. Last year I purchased the super cute Verve set Rain or Shine, but had yet to ink it up. As I was looking through my way to large stash of SU! patterned paper I saw this pack that had all these cute little umbrellas. It was a match made in heaven! Lots of die cutting and some paper piecing on this little number. After laying everything up I added some clear rhinestones for a bit of "shimmer & shine". Pretty darn pleased with how this one turned out!
The second card uses the current Mojo Monday sketch combined with Verve's Diva Dare Smitten challenge. I used two different Verve sets for this card... On Occasion and Cheveron Love. The patterned papers are from SU!, as well. For this card I went a bit shabby and added distress ink to the framed sentiment and then distressed all the edges of the papers. Some sequins (from Verve) were added to the little die cut hearts (also from Verve).

Hello everyone!!! Happy Wednesday... time for a brand new colour combo over at Colour Me..! Wow... everyone on the design team was blown away by all the fabulous entries for our first color challenge! This week you get two colors plus neutrals to work with and as my title indicates those colors are Melon Mambo (bright pink) and Marina Mist (medium blue). All the details can be found here.
Thanks for stopping by... please check out the projects created by my fellow teamies Tara, Hayley, Sam, Katie, Brenda and January guest designer, Lesley.
Supplies: Cardstock: PTI cream & soft stone; Stamps: SU!; Inks: SU! & Memento; Clear rhinestons: KI
For my card I pulled out one of my favorite SU! stamp sets Blooming with Kindness and inked up the flower image with Melon Mambo ink. I slightly overstamped the sentiment using black ink. The butterflies (from the SU! set Papillion Potpourri) were stamped in Marina Mist, punched out, layered and adhered to the card. Some clear rhinestones were added to the body.

hello in pink and black...
Hello friends!! Wow... we are having a gorgeous sunny day here in Western Washington. It is cold, but I will take cold and sunny over cold and rainy any day! Have a little card to share that I made for two My Favorite Things challenges and then discovered this morning that is it perfect for the current Addicted to CAS challenge, die cuts, as well!! YAY!
MFT has had a sketch challenge (MFT Wednesday Stamp Club) for many years and recently decided to add a color challenge (Color Palette #1) to the mix. My card uses the current MFT sketch along with the color combo of pink, black and white. I pulled out my MFT Peaceful Wildflowers stamp set and the matching dies, as well as the MFT Happy Hellos dies. The pink cardstock piece was embossed with the PTI circles cover plate. I really like the simplicity of this week's MFT sketch. It allows you the ability to make it as detailed or simple as you want.

bee.... thankful
Hello friends!! Have a little card to share that I made using the current ColourQ combo of black, grey, gold and white. I had recently purchased some Hero Arts ink cubes that included gold and silver inks so the ColourQ challenge was the perfect opportunity to try out the gold ink. The stamps are a combination of SU! (Gorgeous Grunge and Backyard Basics) and Taylored Expressions (Autumn Wreath) stamps.
I started by trimming my main panel to the size I wanted it and then stamped it with one of the splatter images from the SU! set Gorgeous Grunge using the Hero Arts gold ink. I like this image alot because it allows me to create a splatter look with out all the mess and honestly... I don't like alot of mess, lol!! I stamped the bee using the same gold ink and then die cut it using the matching die. Black cardstock was die cut using a Chalk Talk die and the bee mounted to that. The sentiment (from the TE Autumn Wreath set) was stamped in black ink and some grey washi tape and a sequin were added. The entire piece was mounted on a grey card base.
