Hello friends!! Popping in with a very simple card that I made a few days ago. The last few weeks have been a bit rough for me, physically, and that means paper crafting falls mostly to the wayside. Things have slowly gotten better and should improve more as I will be starting physical therapy on Monday. As a general rule I don't like to talk about things that are getting me down here on my blog because this is a blog about paper crafting, but these last few weeks have been hard and blogging about it (just a little) is another form of therapy. I also wanted to say thank you to everyone who left me lovely comments on my "cover girl" post. Each and everyone of them brought a smile to my face and lifted my spirits! So this card is for you...
Playing along with the current MIM challenge, Gold Dipped Die Cuts, as well as the current Freshly Made Sketch. My first attempt at gold dipped die cuts was a complete disaster, but my little butterfly turned out fairly well. I paired it with two flourish images and a the sentiment from the PTI set Fall Elegance. The patterned paper is from Autumn Abundance. Cardstock is PTI Lemon Tart and Rustic White. I finished the card off with some sequins on the butterfly and a bit of burlap twine.
Thanks for stopping by... :)
Supplies: Cardstock and patterned paper: PTI; Stamps and dies: PTI; Ink: Stampin Up! and Memento; Sequins: Lawn Fawn; burlap twine

Hello Rosie,
ReplyDeleteHere I am in sunny Queensland Australia having a week off with Rob.
Obviously I have missed some posts, but pleased I caught up with this one not only because you are not feeling the best, but also to congratulate you on the achievement of front cover for the magazine.
They chose a lovely card that is easy to case for the readers, this is what you are very good at; relating to the wannabe's and so attracting the potential buyers for the magazine, the card looks easy for a beginner.
You should feel very proud, I have often stated what a talent you are in the CAS genre, to me no-one comes close.
Now this card today is beautiful. It has more going on for me and so to my eye it is more interesting.
Your ability in design and composition is flawless. I love this card because it has movement.
And lastly, yes I will finish here!
I know you feel this Blog is for your cards and I do understand where you are coming from in wanting this, but never feel guilty about letting your followers know if you are feeling low, it will surprise you how writing it down helps, the feedback alone will lift your spirits.
"If you ask you will receive".
I will end now!
Hang in there my friend....
Smiles:)
Sue
