hello... gorgeous...

Hey friends!!  Wow... is it a beautiful day here in the Pacific Northwest and what am I doing on a day like today??  Spending it inside making a card for several challenges.  This good weather is supposed to last through next week so taking one day to stay inside and craft isn't too bad... plus my boys were at school and hubby went to work early so I had a nice quiet house in which to craft (and that doesn't happen often, lol!).  So... I'm playing along with Paulina's Watercolor Blog Hop, Color Throwdown (color combo), CAS(E) this Sketch (layout) and Essentials by Ellen Mix It Up challenge (use Essentials by Ellen and Altenew products.   The watercoloring I did for this card is pretty darn simple because my watercoloring skill aren't that great right now.   I simply stamped the poppy outline images from the Altenew set Painted Poppies using VersaFine Onyx Black ink.  Painted Poppies includes "filler" images and I used the largest one for the flowers.  I inked it up with red ink, spritzed on water and then stamped on the outline images.  I brushed on some clear water to soften everything and pull some of the color out from the images.  The sentiment from the Essentials by Ellen set Hello Gorgeous was stamped in Onyx Black ink, as well.  The frame was die cut using my A Jillian Vance Design Polka Dot Rectangle Backdrop dies.  In order to keep the main panel nice and flat I used a piece of fun foam cut slightly smaller than the panel.  This gives the panel lift and keeps everything flat.  The frame was adhered using foam tape and then a bit a Crystal Stickles was brushed on the flower centers.  Mounted the panel on a black card base.
