PTI June blog hop...

Hey there!  Popping in with a super simple card that I made for this month's PTI blog hop.  I'm also going to add it to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge because I do think it is rather bright and cheerful.   This month's inspiration photo is just so yummy with all those beautiful popsicles.  I don't have anything remotely like that in my PTI collection, but I do have lots of lovely floral sets and so I decided to use my newest one... Corner Adorner February.  I pulled colors from the photo to use in creating my little corner piece.  I stamped the majority of the images onto white cardstock, but the central flower was stamped and die cut.  I wanted to use two shades of green for the leaf and stem portions of the corner piece so I had to do some masking and stamping.  It was a little tricky, but I got it done.  After getting all the stamping done I adhered the little flower and then added my panel to a cardstock base made from PTI's Weathervane cardstock as I thought it was similar in color to the tray that all the popsicles and fruit were arranged on.

Hope you have a wonderful day and happy hopping!

sparkly birds...

Hello!  The weekend is upon us and I have a bright and sparkly card to share today.  It was super hard to take a photo of this card and capture all the sparkle on the birds.  I will be posting this to the Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge of sparkle and shine and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of bright and cheerful.  I have some glitter paper that I got from Stampin Up! and it is super sparkly, but unfortunately it sheds... a lot!  I pulled out a piece of the green and die cut the birds using the C9 By Your Side bird die.  The neat thing about the By Your Side bird die is that if you die cut it from an A2 size panel it gives you the ability to slip a smaller panel of cardstock behind it or you can trim out the die cut and use it that way.  I decided to trim it out.  A piece of white cardstock was stamped with the C9 Barnwood Background stamp using Catherine Pooler's Limoncello ink and then trimmed down.  I placed the panel in my MISTI, positioned the birds where I wanted them, placed my sentiment where I wanted it and then stamped it with Nocturne VersaFine CLAIR ink.  The birds were popped up with foam tape and the panel adhered to a white card base.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

fiesta!

Hello!!  Hope your week is off to a good start! We are having lovely weather here in the Pacific Northwest which is great because today is officially the start of summer break for my youngest.  He is looking forward to going off to camp in two weeks and then other adventures once he gets back!  Today I have a card that I made for the MFT sketch challenge, as well as the MFT color challenge.   When I saw the MFT sketch I immediately thought of the fun Die-namics fiesta die for the large rectangular image in the sketch.  I die cut it three times from bright blue cardstock and adhered them together.  The sentiment is from the MFT PI Birthday Pinata set.  Did a little masking so that I could stamp the sentiment all on one line on kraft cardstock and then die cut it with a Die-namics Slanted Sentiment Strips die.  I used the same die to cut some yellow cardstock, adhered it to the kraft piece and adhered it to my die cut cardstock panel.  Fiesta was adhered with foam tape so that I could overlap it on strip.  I stamped the little candy images from Birthday Pinata, colored them with a yellow and blue marker and then die cut.  Adhered them to the panel and I was done.  Another clean and simple design!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

bright flowers...

Hey there!  Hope you are having a lovely weekend!  This week has been a little crazy and I have not had much time to craft... boo hoo!  But it was all for several good things... celebrating my youngest's birthday and helping to put together (and take down) the 5th grade party for the aforementioned child and his classmates.  They had a fabulous time and are now officially middle schoolers!  Now that things I have calmed down (a little... it is summer after all, lol) I found some time to make a card for a two challenges:  Color Throwdown and CAS(e) this Sketch.   I purchased the sweet Altenew stamp set Folksy Florals quite sometime ago, but have not had the chance to use it so I pulled it out to make my card.  I stamped the flowers using coral, yellow and blue inks and the leaves in green.  Die cut everything with the matching dies and then arranged everything on a white cardstock panel that I die cut with the largest AJVD rectangle backdrop die.   The sentiment is from the Altenew Trigonometry stamp set and was embossed in white on the black cardstock, trimmed down and adhered.  I love the clean and simple look of the design!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

a happy hello

Hey there!  Hope your weekend has started off well.   My youngest spent part of the week at camp and thank goodness the rain held off until they were on their way home.  He had an awesome time and now is one tired 5th grader!   While he was away I did a little bit of crafting, but not as much as I wanted to do... oh well.  I did manage to make a card for a few challenges though:  Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash Hello/Just; Freshly Made Sketches and Color Throwdown.   There isn't a lot of stamping on this card... it is pretty much all die cuts.   I used the RC Tall Stripe Panel as the large central element of the FMS layout and die cut it from black cardstock.  The largest tag from the Tag Me set was die cut from white and the little reinforcer was die cut from aqua cardstock.  I tied some aqua twine through the whole and then added the tag to the Tall Striped Panel.  I then die cut the Wheat from black and aqua cardstock and adhere them together as shown.  The wheat was then adhere to the tag.  I die cut the banner (from the Tag Me set) from thick vellum cardstock and embossed the sentiment from the Tall Bloom stamp set in white.  That was adhered over the wheat and the entire piece adhere to a white cardstock base.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

tiny big news...

Hey there!  If you didn't know the Daily Marker 30 day coloring challenge is going on right now.  So over the last few days I have been coloring images from the super sweet MFT Hello, Little One stamp set and sharing what I colored on Instagram.  I have been trying my hand at no line coloring and have much to learn, but I'm enjoying the process.  Now I have made some of those images into a card that I will be sending to my niece who is expecting a little one at the beginning of November.  I'm so excited and can't wait to meet her little one!!  I used ZIG Clean Color Real Brush markers to color all the images and then die cut them with the matching dies.  I used this week's CTS layout so I will be posting my card to that challenge, as well as the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.  I backed the images with a circle die cut from woodgrain cardstock and a panel of SSS fog cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped using my favorite black ink... Nocturne VersaFine CLAIR.  Love how the card turned out and I hope that my niece loves it too!

Have a wonderful day!

yay! yay! yay!

Hello!  Hope you are having a wonderful week!  We are having lovely weather this weekend which is awesome for the Pacific Northwest at the beginning of June!   The other day I found some time to do a little coloring and created this card for several challenges:  MFT sketch challenge and birthday project challenge (cupcakes & candles) and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (anything goes).    I'm not a huge "critter" person... meaning I don't own a lot of stamp sets that feature animals, but when I saw the super cute Birdie Brown Birthday Chicks stamp set I had to have it.  I mean seriously who can resists those sweet little chicks?!  Not me, lol!  I stamped the images on Canson watercolor paper with Ranger Old Paper distress ink so I could start to figure out the whole no line watercoloring thing.  Obviously you can still see a very light line, but you have start somewhere, right?  All the images were colored with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush markers and clean water.  Once the images were mostly dry I die cut them with the matching dies.   I used a MFT Fishtail Flag stax die to create my banners.   It was a bit of a trick to get all the dies the same length, but I got it worked out... thankfully.  Since this card is going to be going to my great niece who is turning 2 at the end of the month I decided to use some soft pink cardstock for the main panel and I really like how it turned out.

Hope you have a wonderful day!
