A quick post with a card for the new Less is More challenge: Spring. A week or so ago I got the Hero Arts cling stamp, Large Blossom, from my sweet Flickr/blogging friend, Brenda, through a stamp swap that we did. So for the last week I have been wanting to make something with it. The Less is More challenge was the perfect opportunity, but what to do. Then when I saw the 90 minute scramble challenge over at the Hero Arts Flickr group and my idea crystalized. The basic idea of the 90 minute scramble is to complete a card in 90 minutes or less. We aren't given the "rules" of the challenge until the start time of the challenge. It makes for lots of fun! The scramble challenge this morning was hosted by Hannah F. and she challenged us to either use a Hero Arts woodgrain stamp or to use distress inks and/or paper distressing. I decided to go with using distress inks.
For my card I stamped the image on cream cardstock with Versamark watermark ink, applied clear embossing powder and then heat set. Once that was done I applied Ranger's Scattered Straw distress ink using a ink blending tool and foam pad. After I finished applying the ink I tried some Stampin Up! So Saffron ribbon around the piece and mounted it on the card front using foam dimensionals. I also used the Scattered Straw ink to stamp the sentiment.
Thanks for taking a peek....
Supplies: Cardstock: PTI Vintage Cream; Stamps: Hero Arts: Large Blossom cling, Find Joy set; Ink: Ranger Scattered Straw; Ribbon: Stampin Up! So Saffron grosgrain
Oh wow Rosemary! You made the most beautiful card! I am so glad you got to use the stamp! Beautiful colour too! I have made you something with the set you sent me, just have to figure out how to package it so that it does not get damaged in the post! Take care!

ReplyDeleteThat distress ink is such a lovely colour. I think that's another shade that will have to go on my shopping list. The stamp is super too and I love the process of embossing in clear EP and then colouring over it.
