Scap-Mart - Heartfelt Creations Blog Hop - A Flowery Cupcake!

This week Scrap-Mart.com is showcasing stamps from Heartfelt Creations both on their blog and on the blogs of Heartfelt Creations design team members. Today myself and my fellow design team sister, Olga, are going to be providing you with some HC inspiration. If you got here from the Scrap-Mart blog you are on the right track. If not, I suggest you head over there to see what their design team is showcasing.

My cupcake card uses stamps from the Posy Patch collection and the matching HC/Spellbinders dies, Posy Patch (HCPC3303 Posy Patch Flowers & HCD701 Posy Patch dies) and a sentiment from the Inspire Me Sentiments set (HCPC3363). I initially had a different idea in mind for my project, but when I saw the inspiration photo for the new CR84FN challenge I immediately changed my mind and created the card you see. I mean just look at those cupcakes! So yummy and I had this fun cupcake template that I had been wanting to use. In order to get the yellow/orange color of the flowers I stamped all of them using a krafty-brownish colored ink and then applied Scattered Straw and Spiced Marmalade inks. The actual card base is kraft cardstock and initially I had left the "cup" portion of the card the kraft color, but decided that was too dull and covered it with the yellow grid paper.

I did alot of diecutting for the card, but boy was it worth it. And because I have the matching dies it was easy peasy to accomplish. (Could you imagine cutting out all those flowers by hand???) I love, love, love how the card turned out! I'm going to be putting this card into the CR84FN challenge, as well as the current Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge to use handstamped flowers. In order to get a good shot of the card in the open position I had to position the card on an angle... but I think it looks okay.

Thanks for taking a peek... now its on to sweet Olga's blog for more inspiration!
