As June had 5 Saturdays instead of just 4, the 5th Saturday is "lucky dip" day at LIM and Chrissie and Mandi asked us to make a card based on the LIM header. I immediately knew I was going to use my SU! Apothecary Art set because of the similarity between one of the images in the set and portions of the LIM header. The LIM header is basically black and tan or kraft in coloration and when I saw the Dynamic Duo challenge I knew it would be a perfect fit... so my colors are Crumb Cake & Black with white as my neutral. Initially I stamped the image using Crumb Cake but felt it was a little too light so I made the switch to black. After stamping the image I trimmed it out and then using the dies that match the Apothecary Art cut a mat for the piece using Crumb Cake cardstock. I trimmed out the center strip from the image I stamped using Crumb Cake, stamped the sentiment inside using black ink and then adhered it to first image. To give more definition to everything I added a simple strip of black cardstock and then adhered the main image. Finished things off with a few butterflies punched from Crumb Cake cardstock.
Now... for my exciting news! There is a new CAS challenge blog in town called CASology and I was fortunate to have been chosen to be on the first design team!!! How cool is that??? The first challenge will be on July 10th, so I hope you will check it out! Below is a list of the design team... please take the time to check out their blogs.
