ODBDSLC117.... A Sketch!!

Hello, friends!!  It's Tuesday and that means it's time for another fubulous ODBD Shining the Light challenge!   This week the challenge team is asking you to make your project using a super fun sketch.   This challenge will be running for two weeks so you will have lots of time to get those cards done!!    This is also the last week with our super amazing guest designer, Sherry!  I have been so completely wow'd by her absolutely stunning projects and I'm so sad to see her go!!

I went with a bright and sunny color palette this week and used a lovely Mother Teresa quote from the  ODBD set "Let Us Begin".  This card was so much fun to make for several reasons.  One reason is that I finally got to use a really fun new bow die set that I bought from Li'l Inker Designs.  I have had the dies for several months, but hadn't found a project that I could use them on.... until the SLC sketch.  The pattern paper is from the SU! dp pack "Beyond the Garden".  I die cut the bow and assembled it with a slight modification that involved cutting the "tails" piece in half so that I could position the tails the way you see them on the card.  Once assembled a orange button was added to the center of the bow.  The flower was made by inking some Prima canvas resist flowers with Rangers Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade inks, spritzing them with Perfect Pearl pearl mist and then shaping them.  Once the flowers dried I shaped them a bit more and assembled my flower adding a yellow flower button to the center.

As always, we will be giving out a prize, a $15.00 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Sunday, August 5th at 8:00 pm EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced on Tuesday. While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Design images and sentiments on your projects, we would definitely love to see them if you have them!! As a way of recognizing those who do use ODBD stamps we will be choosing three or more of our participants for the Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award or join the challenge, you must use ODBD stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday, August 5th at 8:00 pm EST. If you upload to Splitcoaststampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword: ODBDSLC117. When creating your post on your blog, please include a direct link to the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by... please take some time to check out the beautiful projects created by my fellow "sticks" Lori, Jan Marie, Jan, Kathy, Chris, Sabrina and this month's guest designer, Sherry! To join in the fun, please click here.
