a little birdie... more spellbinders sweet cardlets 2

Hello everyone!  I hope you all had a great week.  As is typical in the Northwest our lovely sunny days have turned to cloudy and gray... just in time for the weekend!  I'm popping back in with another card that I made using a product from the Spellbinders/Amazing Paper Grace Sweet Cardlets 2 collection.  This product is called A Little Birdie Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Die set.   I absolutely love this Glimmer plate collection!  The there is a beautiful wreath in the set and I used the flowers from that to create the little bits flowing out from sentiment strip.  I used the colors from Color Throwdown for my palette so I will be posting the card there.   The layout is based on the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches although I didn't make it curved.   Didn't have a die I could use to do that and wasn't going to try to free-hand cut it, lol!  Anywhoo... I foiled the bird on Spellbinders Glacier cardstock with Skybright foil, a pretty light blue foil, using my Glimmer Hot Foil System and then die cut the bird with the matching die.  I used Copic markers in B000 and B0000 to add some light blue to the bird's wing, tail and belly.  I foiled the sentiment in black foil on a light green cardstock and die cut it with a Spellbinders sentiment strip die.   The wreath was also foiled in Skybright on Glacier cardstock and then I trimmed out the flowers.    Spellbinders Waterfall and white cardstock was die cut using the Essentials Rectangle dies.   I then further trimmed down the white cardstock panel with the Essentials Rectangle die by sliding it over on one long side and running it through my die cutting machine.  I adhered the Waterfall panel flush to my cardbase and popped up the white one.  Then the struggle began, lol!  I don't know how long I spent trying to arrange the little floral branches I trimmed out from the wreath, but it was along time!  Finally I reached a good arrangement by trimming each branch down further, if that makes sense.  I adhered everything as you see.  I plan to finish the interior of the card and will add that to this post when I do.

A few little pale green sequins were added to bring in more of the light green and then I did add some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew to the center of the three flowers.   Don't forget that Spellbinders is currently offering 40% off select dies.  Just click on this link or the link in my side bar to check out what is on sale!  Going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge since there is some die cutting on it.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!  (Affiliate links used in the body of my blog post where possible.)

Spellbinders Sweet Cardlets 2 Release

Hello everyone!  I'm popping in with a card I made using a product from the Spellbinders/Amazing Paper Grace Sweet Cardlets 2 release.   The product I am using today are the new Hemstitch Slimline etched dies.   I combined the Hemstitch slimline dies with floral dies that were part of the April Spellbinders card kit.  I also used some of the new Spellbinders essential cardstock for my card.  (Affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.)

I die cut Teal Topaz essential cardstock  with the largest die from the Hemstitch die set, long with the insert that creates the hemstitch detailing on your die cut.  I die cut Waterfall cardstock with the smallest die and its corresponding insert from the Hemstitch die set and then added the sentiment from the Essential Glimmer Sentiments set using my Glimmer hot foil system and teal foil.  White cardstock was die cut with the middle sized die from the Hemstitch set and as you can see I opted to not use the corresponding insert.  I layered the largest die on a white cardstock card base using foam tape.  I then added the white die cut with adhesive and the sentiment panel with foam tape.  I then die cut all the flowers using the dies from the April kit from the same cardstocks I used for the panels.  I adhered the flowers to the card front and then finished off things with light blue sequins.   I'm going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge to use dies and/or punches.

Before I go I wanted to let you know that Spellbinders is currently offering 40% off select dies.  Just click on the banner below or the link in my sidebar to be taken to the sale page.

Now for my project!

My card features the sweet Clear Stamp of the Month, along with a beautiful Spellbinders stamp set called Beauty in Bloom.  I stamped images from Beauty in Bloom on watercolor cardstock with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and then watercolored them very simply.  The panel was then die cut with a Spellbinders Essentials Rectangle die.   I die cut off white cardstock with the largest Essentials Rectangle die, placed it in my stamping tool so I could line up the sweet floral border images from the Clear Stamp of the Month.  I stamped the borders on two sides, flipped the panel and then stamped the other two sides.  I colored the borders with the same watercolors I used for the larger flowers.  The panel was adhered to a card base I made using Spellbinders Silver Fox cardstock.  I popped up the second panel in the center of the first.   The sentiment was stamped on the same cardstock used for the bottom panel and die cut with a classic Spellbinders nestabilities square die.  I popped that up as well and then added the light pink sequins to finish things off.   Your next stop on the hop is the super talented Norine Borys!

a couple of cards...

Hey there!  Popping in with a couple of cards that I made over the last few days.  First up is a card for Color Throwdown.  I recently purchased a few things from the Greetery and pulled them out for this card.  I purchased the pretty Bittersweet  Bouquet stamp set which is more of a fall themed stamp set.  I used it to create a more spring like card.   It was really easy to stamp all the different layers in the image and then die cut it with the matching die.  All the inks are from Catherine Pooler.  The sentiment is from another new set I purchased called Simply Wonderful.  The set contains all of these beautiful scripty sentiments and then the large word "wonderful".  I picked the sentiment for the front of the card and stamped it.  I then stamped the word "wonderful" using the two green inks I used for the leaves on the inside of the card.  I finished off the card with the pink die cut bow (also from the Greetery) and some red jewels from Pretty Pink Posh.

Here is the inside:

The second card is for Freshly Made Sketches.  I recently made a purchase from Scrapbook.com.  If you haven't purchased things from Scrapbook.com you should give them a look.  They often have a free with purchase item, good sales and other promotions and carry most of the major stamping brands.  When I made my purchase they were offering a 6x8 pad of paper from a company that I had not heard of called P13.  The pad of paper looked really pretty so I decided to add it to my cart.  I'm so glad that I did!  It is BEAUTIFUL!  So I used it to create my card.  I die cut some butterfly patterned paper with a fishtail flag die from MFT.  On the backside was a woodgrain pattern so I used that for my background and adhered the banner.  The sentiment is from a Stampin Up! set called Floral Gallery.  I almost used the stamp set that coordinates with the dies, but just couldn't pass up using the beautiful papers!  I die cut the sentiment from another piece of patterned paper, additional die cuts from scrap paper, adhered them together for dimension and adhered it to the card front.  I trimmed out three of the butterflies, applied a little bit of Star Dust Stickles (looks very pretty in real life) and adhered them.  There are sentiments in the stamp set to use with the die cut sentiment.  I couldn't decide which to use so I will add something later.  Most likely inside the card.

ocean themed cards...

Hello!  Hope your week is off to a great start.  It looks like we will be having nice weather today, so that is a great start in my book!  I'm popping in with two ocean themed cards today.  Both cards were made with items from the Spellbinder May card kit of the month.  Sadly, this kit is sold out as a single subscription purchase, but you can still get it if you sign up for the Spellbinders value club kit that includes the card kit.  Just click here to see the options.

For the first card I used patterned paper, cardstock, stickers, a sentiment strip and one of the dies to create my card.  Absolutely no stamping on this one!   I arranged all my elements per the sketch at Fab Friday (I will be posting it there) and adhered the panel to one of the cardstock bases that is included in the kit.  Super quick and easy!   I going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge too as I think this is rather feminine.

The second card features just stickers, a sentiment strip and these pretty gems that are included in the kit.  I simply arranged everything on another card base from the kit, adhered them and I was done.   As this one is very clean and simple I will be sending it off to the Less is More challenge of sea creatures.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

birthday blessings...

Hello!  Popping in with a card for Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches.   This is a clean and simple mish-mash of products from different companies.  Mostly Reverse Confetti, but a little Simon Says Stamp, Stampin Up! and A Jillian Vance Design thrown into the mix!  I used my very favorite Reverse Confetti tag set (and the very first one released by RC!) to make my little tag.  The little leaves come from the Simon Says Stamp Eucalyptus Leaves die set and were cut from red and light blue cardstock.  The sentiment is from RC and was stamped using Stampin Up! Real Red ink, then die cut with a label die from AJVD.   I added a bit of light blue twine to my tag, popped it up on the panel (die cut with another RC die), added the leaves, the sentiment and I was done.   Clean and simple!

This would also fit the May Stock Your Stash challenge at Revere Confetti.  Still deciding if I will post it there.   Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

best wishes...

Hey there!   I just got the Pinkfresh Studio Joyful Peonies stencil set and the Best Wishes foiling plate and used them for my card.  I'm hoping to get the Joyful Peonies foiling plate and matching die once they are back in stock.  But you can just use the stencils for really pretty results.  I used Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Squeezed Lemonade for the flowers.  I then die cut the image with a Spellbinders essential rectangle die and the little insert that creates the tiny dotted openings around the perimeter of the rectangle.  I adhered strips of gold foil cardstock behind the dots and then adhered the panel to my card base.  The sentiment was foiled using my Glimmer and die cut with the matching die.  I cut three more of the sentiment die from white cardstock and stacked them with the foiled sentiment.  That was adhered to my card front along with a few gold sequins.   I'am going to add this to the new challenge over at the Flower Challenge to use your favorite flower.  I love peonies and can't wait for mine to start blooming.  Since there is still some time I will also post this over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.  This also works for the Card Concept so will post it there, too.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

spellbinders may stamp of the month

Hello friends!  I'm stopping in with two cards that I made using the Spellbinders May clear stamp of the month.  The clear stamp of the month is a subscription club just like the card kit, etc.   Just click here to check out the CSOM club subscription.    This month the CSOM features lots of great sentiments and some small floral images that you can use to create borders and backgrounds on your cards.  I created two cards with the stamp set.

For this first card I decided to do some hotfoiling with my Glimmer.  The new cardstock from Spellbinders is perfect for hotfoiling.  I did some tone on tone foiling using teal foil on the new Teal Topaz cardstock.   It is so pretty in real life!  I stamped the sentiment from the CSOM using teal ink and then die cut it with a Spellbinders classic nestabilities circle die.  The foiled border was created using the April Glimmer kit and then the border die cut with one of the dies from the April Glimmer kit.   This piece was then die cut with a Spellbinder essential rectangle die.  I then foiled the flower and leaves with the teal foil, die cut them with the matching dies and adhered everything on the card front as you see.   Going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.

This card started with the panel you see in the background.  I had foiled this panel several months ago using Scattered Heart Background glimmer plate using black foil.  Yep... that is back foil!  Looks like stamping doesn't it?  I die cut the panel with the largest essentials rectangle die and adhered it to my light gray cardstock base.  I didn't want to totally cover up all the fun foiling so I decided to heat emboss the sentiment on vellum using black embossing powder.  I also added one of the floral border images above and beneath the sentiment.  I then die cut that with the second largest essentials rectangle die.  I used rolled up Zots glue dots (medium size works the best for this) placed behind the embossing to adhere the panel to scattered hearts panel.  I think this would make a nice sympathy card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

Happy May Day!

Hello everyone!  I have some exciting news to share... I will now be sharing projects created with the Spellbinders card kit of the month!  If you have never seen the Spellbinders monthly card kit you really need to check them out.   There are also card kit extras available, as well.  The amount of product that you receive in each kit far exceeds the monthly subscription amount of $38.50.    The kit for May is called Beach Day and it is full of fun beachy products like shell stickers and chipboard stickers, a pad of 6x6 papers with a beach theme, as well as a beach themed stamp set and die set.  I had so much fun creating the three cards I'm sharing today and tried to use at least one thing from all the different items in the kit.  UPDATE:  The May kit of the month is now sold out!  You can still get the kit as part of a value club package, but you cannot sign up to buy just the kit.

First up is a card that I made using a die from the April card kit.   The April kit included a die that creates a little envelope.  I used some aqua cardstock from the May kit to die cut my envelope and then assembled it.   I  pulled out a piece of patterned paper from the 6x6 pad with a water/beach look to it.  I die cut it with the largest Essentials Rectangle die and adhered it to one of the premade card bases.  I then adhered my little envelope and filled it with alot of the shell stickers.  I then added the three chipboard stickers to finish things off.  This card is super dimensional and I'm thinking I may turn it into a decor piece!   I'm going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.

For the second card I used the layout from Freshly Made Sketches.  I layered up a frame on some patterned paper from the kit with the fun beach umbrella, a beachy little handbag and a camera.  I then added the sentiment and a few little star stickers.

For the final card I used the layout from Mojo Monday.  I die cut some aqua cardstock from the kit and then added the patterned paper per the sketch.   I die cut gold metallic cardstock with a die from the kit.  I actually cut two pieces and adhered them together to create the strip.  You can also use that die to create a frame.   The patterned papers were die cut and adhered per the sketch.   I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set with a teal ink and then adhered all the ephemera pieces.  I finished with the little gold stars.

I just love the soft pretty colors that are found in this kit, as well as the fun beach theme!  You can check out the other club kits by clicking on the Spellbinders link in my sidebar or by clicking here.  Here is a graphic of what comes in the kit:
