happy national coffee day!

Hello everyone!  Today is national coffee day and that means that the Coffee Loving Cardmakers are hosting a blog hop of sponsors over on their blog.  A Jillian Vance Design is a super sponsor and if you head over to the AJVD blog you can enter to win a $20 gift certificate to the AJVD store!  Normally on Wednesdays I post my project over on the AJVD blog, but today is a little different.  I will be posting my card here (and over on the AJVD blog) with all the details as to how I created my card.   So lets get started!

I used a lot of different AJVD products on my card!  I started with the coffee bean background from the  Brewed to Perfection stamp set.  I stamped the image on kraft cardstock with dark brown ink, die cut it with a rectangle die and then inked the edges with Gathered Twigs distress oxide ink.  I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps for my card and so I die cut  orange and yellow cardstock per elements in the sketch and inked them with distress oxide inks in Mustard Seed (yellow) and Ripe Persimmon (orange).  I layered those on my coffee bean background.  I stamped the mug from Hug in a Mug on red cardstock with dark brown ink and then added some shading with a dark red Copic marker.  The mug was then cut with the matching die.   I stamped the pumpkin image from the Hug in a Mug on white cardstock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and then colored with Copic markers.  I cut the image with the matching die.   The sentiment (from the Pumpkin Spice stamp set) was stamped on kraft cardstock with VersaFine Acorn ink, die cut it with a label die and then inked the edges.   I popped up the mug on the card front, added the sentiment and then popped up the pumpkin.   Also going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.

National Coffee Day Blog Hop!

Hey everyone!!  As many of you know today is National Coffee Day and the gals over at the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog are having another big blog hop to celebrate.  Precious Remembrance Shop is a super sponsor and so is A Jillian Vance design.  There are great prizes from both companies!   Please head over to the PRS blog and the AJVD blog for all the details on how to win each prize.  I made two cards to share.  First up is a PRS card I made using the super fun Coffee Love stamp set from Precious Remembrance Shop along with an image from another fabulous PRS set called New Day.  I stamped the coffee cup from Coffee Love on two coordinating papers from a My Mind's Eye paper pad.   The full cup was trimmed out from one and then pieces of the other were trimmed out and adhered to the cup as you see.  I then stamped the sentiment in the center of the cup.  I trimmed down another coordinating piece of paper and cut it on the diagonal.  The pieces were adhered to a light green cardstock base.  I stamped the image from the New Day that looks like a coffee stain in pink ink and then adhered the coffee cup.   Precious Remembrance Shop has a discount offer going on right now so I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to save on some fantastic PRS sets through October 8th.  Going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.

As I indicated above A Jillian Vance Design is also a part of this hop.  I created a clean and simple design using thee AJVD sets Brew-tiful and But First Coffee.  I stamped the coffee cup ring image from But First Coffee in two different inks (kraft and taupe) on off white cardstock.  The coffee bean image was stamped in a really dark brown.  I stamped the sentiment (from Brew-tiful) using a light brown ink and then die cut the word coffee (from the Coffee, Tea & Me die set) from brown glitter cardstock and some scrap cardstock.  All the die cuts were adhered together and then adhered to the card to complete the sentiment.  I'm adding this to the CAS(E) this Sketch link up as I used their sketch for the layout.  Make sure that you head over to the AJVD blog to see my card along with projects from other AJVD design team members and to leave a comment for a chance to win a $100 prize pack!

Have a wonderful day and enjoy the hop!

how have you bean?

Hello everyone!!  Stopping in with a card for the spring Coffee Lover's blog hop that starts today.  I combined the Hero Arts Coffee Cup Tags set with the A Jillian Vance Design But First Coffee stamp set to create my card.  I stamped the floral to go cup image in watermark ink on white cardstock, applied white embossing powder and then heat set.  The Coffee Cup Tags set is actually a holiday one, but I thought the flowers could be made to look more spring like by using bright colors like orange and pink. I used distress ink markers to color the images and then wiped off the excess ink with a paper towel.  Some ink did remain, but I don't think it takes away from the over all look.  I die cut a piece of white cardstock with an AJVD Stitched Dot Rectangle die and then stamped the coffee ring image using Vintage Sepia ink.  After stamping the lid in gray ink I die cut the cup and lid with the matching dies and adhered them to the panel.  The sentiment was stamped in watermark ink and embossed with black embossing powder on a strip of vellum.  Trimmed down the strip and adhered it to the cup.  I will also add this to the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge to use more than one die or punch.
Enjoy the blog hop!

merry & bright...

Hey!!! Stopping in to share another tag for the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist.  I have now made seven tags total!!  This one is for day 12 which is a color challenge to use blue, green, teal and tan.  The tags that day 12 designers Carolyn and Angie are super cute and I took inspiration from both tags in creating mine.  I had recently gotten the Concord & 9th Cozy Up stamps and matching dies and had been itching to make something with them.  I decided to pair them up with the day 12 challenge.  I die cut my tag and then stamped the tag with the heart image from Cozy Up using tan colored ink.  The little coffee mugs were stamped on watercolor paper with VersaFine Smoky Gray ink and then colored with ZIG markers in blue and green.  The little steam curls were die cut from watercolor paper and then colored with a gray ZIG.  To finish the mugs off I stamped the little snowflake using VersaMark, applied white embossing powder and then heat set.  The sentiment is from the C9 Shine Bright stamp set.  It was stamped in VersaMark on kraft cardstock, white embossing powder applied, heat set and then trimmed out.  I arranged everything on the tag added the teal colored twine and I was done.  I'm also going to add this to the current Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge of winter.  Since I have little coffee mugs on my tag I'm going to add it to the Coffee Lovers winter blog hop.

Hope you have a wonderful day...

coffee lovers winter blog hop...

Hello!!!  As many of you know the Coffee Lovers Winter blog hop starts today and I have a card that I made for the hop using Hero Arts Coffee Cups Tags and the matching dies.   The layout for the card is based on the current Freshly Made Sketches layout.   This card is going to the gals who work at the Starbucks that I frequent so I went with a Starbucks Christmas inspired design.  The papers used are from the Teresa Collins Santa's List 6x6 pad.  I die cut the cup from the snowflake patterned paper and then the lid and the wrap from another piece from the pad and then stamped them with the matching images using green ink.  The little bit of holly was stamped in the same green and then die cut with the matching die.  The sentiment was stamped in a red ink that matched the snowflake paper.   The snowflake (from A Jillian Vance Design) was die cut from silver glitter cardstock because well... glitter makes everything better, right???   I was delighted to see that the die cut snowflake matches the little snowflakes in the pattern perfectly!!   Another piece of paper from the same pad was trimmed into a square and then everything layered up as you see on a white cardstock panel.  Since I'm not a coffee drinker my little cup is full to the brim with a yummy Starbucks Chai Latte made with soy milk!   With my icy looking snowflake I'm going to add this to the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of Ice Inspired and to Lori's Visions of Sugarplums challenge.

Hope you have a wonderful day... happy hopping!!

a cup of tea...

Hey friends!!  Popping in with a card for the Spring Coffee Lover's blog hop.  I don't drink coffee (although today I had a mocha frap... but only because if I buy one and two other things I will get 8 bonus stars!), but since you can also enter projects using a tea or cocoa theme I decided to play along.  The color combo comes from this week's Color Throwdown and the layout is based on second Viva La Verve March sketch.  Still working on my huge collection of  6x6 patterned paper so I used up a few more sheets making this card.   The stamps I used are from Verve... the One Cup set.  I die cut the little cups from lavender polka dot paper and then stamped them with the corresponding images using lavender ink.   Panels were die cut from white cardstock and patterned paper using the largest A Jillian Vance Design Polka Dot Rectangle Backdrop die and then the about 1 1/2 inches of the patterned rectangle was trimmed off and adhered to the white panel.   The circles were also die cut with A Jillian Vance Design dies (plain and polka dot circle backdrop dies) from white and red cardstock.  Stamped the sentiment on red gingham paper and the white cardstock circle.  The cup was trimmed from the gingham paper and then adhered to the sentiment.  Adhered the circles to my doily, then to the panel and added the little polka dot cups.  Very simple, but kinda cute.

Thanks for stopping by today...

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hey friends!!  Fall is officially here and that means time for the fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  Precious Remembrance Shop is a super sponsor for the hop and that means everyone who participates has a chance to win the super fun PRS set Fall Colors.   Everyone on the PRS design team has a card that we created for the hop using Precious Remembrance Shop stamps. I used the coffee related set Coffee Love.  I'm not a coffee drinker, but I will have the occasional mocha or peppermint mocha.  My drink of choice is a Chai Latte (all soy no water).   But that is a great thing about the Coffee Lovers blog hop...you can make a card using tea or hot cocoa images, as well!!  So... the "to go" cup on my card has a yummy hot and steaming Chai Latte in it!!  In keeping with the theme of fall I used a warm color palette of orange, golden yellow, brown and red with a bit of dark brown and kraft thrown in.  I stamped the to go cup on some cream paper and trimmed out the coffee cup lid and the center band.  The cup was stamped again on plaid paper and the entire thing trimmed out.  I added the lid and center band to the plaid cup.  The little circle heart image was stamped in orange ink and the sentiment "enjoy" was stamped in brown. I punched it out with a circle punch and added it to the center band.  The layout for my card is based on the current Freshly Made Sketch so I will be adding my card to that line up, as well.   Posting this to the current Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge to use orange.

Thanks for stopping by today... enjoy your coffee and the hop!!

a cup of tea...

Hey friends... getting this post done before the day gets going.  It is going to be another gorgeous one and I want to make sure that we get out and enjoy that sunshine!!  I created this card using the first sketch for the June Viva La Verve challenge, as well as the Verve Diva Dare challenge (eat me drink me).  I'm not a coffee drinker (my favorite is a tall Starbucks Chai latte with soy milk... no water), but I will be entering this into the Summer Coffee Lovers blog hop since you can also enter tea or hot cocoa related cards.  Papers are from the My Mind's Eye Jubilee line and the stamp set used is Verve's One Cup.   The banners were cut using a die from the Verve Flag It die set.  Tried to keep things simple, but added some interest with a little paper piecing, some partial embossing and a bit of distressing.

coffee... and friends...

Hello!!!  Today is September 29th and I recently learned that September 29th is National Coffee Day.  Now, to be honest I'm not a coffee drinker.. that would be my hubby.  My elixir of choice is a tall Chai, all soy...no water from Starbucks.  But I do have several super cute coffee related sets and so I thought I would play along with Chaitali's Coffee Lover's blog hop.

Chaitali recently began designing stamps for one of my favorite stamp companies, Verve, and earlier this month I was able to pick up one of her sets and the cute little coffee word die that she designed.  I used the word die on my card along with stamps from the Precious Remembrance Shop set Coffee Love.  I used some My Mind's Eye Now and Then papers to do some paper piecing.  The layout is a super simple take on the current Freshly Made sketches layout.

Thanks for stopping by... and make sure you check out the hop.  Chaitali has loads of great prizes up for grabs!
