25 Days of Christmas Tags - bonus day!

Hey everyone!  I'm popping in with a couple of tags that I made for Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags event bonus day!   If you head over to Tracey's blog you can see all of the tags made by the A Jillian Vance Design team for this event and to play along by creating a tag based on tags created for any of the event days.  There are tons of prizes to be won so get creating and get your tags posted by December 3rd in order to be in the running for a prize.  All the information can be found here.    For my tags today I used the Minnie Pearl Tag die set along with the Jingle Bells die set and the Stately Stag die set.   The sentiments are from the Christmas Blessings and the Let It Snow stamp set.   You can also see all the tags on the A Jillian Vance Design blog.

I had a lot of fun making these two tags and as you can see I used lots of fun glitter paper!   If I had to pick a favorite it would be the one with the Stately Stag on it as I just love the his Christmas lights wrapped antlers!   Below are photos of each of the tags as well as a photo showing all the different sponsors of this event.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my tags and that you take the time to participate in this fun event!  Hope you have a wonderful day!

hello... baby...

Happy weekend!!   Lisa and I are back at it with our little CASology challenge.  This week's cue is 'cute' and that is not something I'm good at when it comes to card making.  Lisa on the other hand is the master of super cute cards so I know her card will totally rock the challenge.   I do have a couple of stamp sets that could be considered cute and one of them is the Lawn Fawn Hello Baby set.  I mean... come on... what is cuter than a bunny or a baby???  I stamped the two bunnies from the set in VersaFine Smoky Gray and then colored them with ZIG clean color markers in a light brown/gray and a light gray and clean water.  Once the bunnies were colored up I added a little touch of pink for their noses and some light brown to the bigger bunny's ear.  I flicked on ZIGs in two shades of green and then blended the two colors out with clean water.  Once the panel was dry I trimmed it down slightly and adhered it to a light gray cardstock base.   I added some light gray enamel dots, as well.  My layout is based on the new layout from CAS(E) this Sketch and so I will be adding it to that line up as well as the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.

Hope you have a wonderful day... please head over to Lisa's blog and check out her card I know it is beyond cute!!

celebrate...

Hey friends!!   Stopping in with another post... twice in one day... Yikes!!   I made this card for the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge, as well as ColourQ.  Freshly Made Sketches is celebrating there 200th sketch challenge and they have lots of prizes up for grabs.   When I saw the sketch a couple of ideas came to mind and one in particular that I just had to make.  Since this is a celebration of their 200th sketch I decided to create a card using that word and balloons.   I used the "camouflage" diecutting technique, but instead of stamping I used die cuts.  I was going to try the double die cutting technique (think that is what it is called), but I got frustrated trying to find a video for it and gave up.  Anywhoo... for my card I die cut the speech bubble border (from Lawn Fawn) from white cardstock and the balloons (from A Jillian Vance Design) from three of the ColourQ colors.  The balloons were adhered to the white cardstock piece and then the word "celebrate" (from A Jillian Vance Design) was die cut from that piece.  Two additional words were die cut from white cardstock and stacked in the negative place with the original one placed on top.  Another speech bubble border was die cut from grey cardstock and then adhered behind the first one slightly offset.  Initially I didn't have strings on the balloons, but after looking at it for a bit decided to add them using a black Micron pen.  Not a lick of stamping on this card, lol!

sweet girl...

Hey friends... popping with a card that I made for a couple of challenges:  Freshly Made Sketches (layout) and AAA Cards (woodland animals).   I don't own a ton of animal stamps... they are just not my thing... but I do own the super cute Lawn Fawn Hello Baby set (and the matching dies).  So I pulled that set out and tried my hand at some more water coloring.  I think things turned out pretty well.   I'm also going to post this to the Pretty Pink Posh Watercolor Blog Hop since I water colored the bunnies and the scribble circle.   ETA:  adding this to the current Lawnscaping challenge:  critters

One of my recent crafty purchases was the PTI Scribble Circle dies and I had been wanting to make something with them.  I water colored some Ranger water color paper using light yellow and pink inks.  Once the piece was dry I die cut it using the middle scribble circle.  It came out of the die with all the pieces still together and I liked how it looked so I just added some washi tape to the back to make sure that nothing fell out before I got the card finished.  The little bunnies were colored, allowed to dry and then die cut with the matching dies.  Some paper from the PTI Beautiful Brushstrokes pad was used to compliment the pink in the scribble circle.  I stamped the sentiment and then layered everything up.  The finished panel was mounted on a PTI Soft Stone card base.   I think this would make a lovely baby shower card or a birthday card for a little girl.

i'm stuck on you...

Hello friends!!  Hope your week is off to a good start!  Popping in today with a card for a few challenges.   The new challenge at AAA Cards is "there's a hole in my card" which worked perfectly with the new sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch.  So glad that I discovered that Sweet Sunday Sketch now has it's own blog.  I'm also going to post this to the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - CAS, as well as the new Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge - anything goes.  I bought this fun Lawn Fawn set "Stuck on You" about a month ago and finally got the chance to ink it up.  This is a set that I wouldn't have normally purchased, but it was just too cute to resist!   I cut my kraft cardstock to size, embossed it with a woodgrain embossing folder and then die cut the circle using a Spellbinders plain circle die.  The cactus and pot were die cut, stamped and then arranged inside the circle after I stamped the sun (from a Hero Arts set) and the "grass" (from the Stampin Up! set Sheltering Tree.  A little strip of cardstock was cut, stamped with the sentiment and then adhered using foam dimensionals.   Finished things off with the three little hearts.   I really like how the pot didn't stamp fully... gives it a bit of a weathered look.

hello... times 2...

Hello friends!!  Hope your week is going well.  Mine was until Wednesday... well actually things started going down hill on Tuesday night.   I occasionally get migraines.  Most of the time they aren't too bad and I can manage them, but the one I started getting on Tuesday evening was a doozy!   I'm not sure how I got the two cards I made on Tuesday evening done, but I did.  Now that I'm mostly back to normal after an awful day on Wednesday I finally have a chance to post them.   I will be adding both cards to the current Ellen Hutson Mix It Up challenge, as well as to the current ColourQ challenge.    Adding this to the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge:  April Showers/Flowers

For this month's Mix It Up challenge we have to combine Essentials by Ellen products with Lawn Fawn products.   I used the Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts Scripty Hello and the Essentials by Ellen Bold Blooms stamp set.   As I set out to make a card I did a lot of experimenting with the arrangement which is why I ended up with two cards.   On the first card I only die cut the "hello" three times (once from the main panel and then two additional from plain cardstock).  On the second card I die cut the "hello" four times (once from the main panel and then three more).   I prefer the card with the four die cuts as I think the hello stands out more.  Anyway... I quite like both of them.   I did brush a bit of clear Wink of Stella on the flowers and leaves, but it is very subtle.

my sunshine...

Hey friends!  So... I made this card for the Simon Says Stamp/Lawn Fawn co-challenge over at flickr.  Unfortunately, I had to pull the card from the challenge because I missed one little (well actually big, lol!) component:  use kraft!   As you can see from my card there isn't a drop of kraft on it!  Sigh... going to try to make something new for the flickr challenge.  Thankfully there is still plenty of time to enter.   I will be posting this to the new SSS Work It Wednesday challenge (spring... don't cute bunnies just says "spring" to you?) and this week's SSS Wednesday challenge Anything Goes.

I love it when I get an idea and I'm able to have my card turn out exactly like I envisioned it!  I own one Lawn Fawn set, Hello Baby.  I stamped the big and little bunnies on some Teresa Collins Memorabilia patterned paper and die cut them with the matching dies.  I stamped the grass using light blue and grey inks and then adhered the bunnies.  The blue "sky" was die cut using the Lawn Fawn Speech Bubble Border die.  The sun is from the SSS set Bring the Sunshine and was cut using the matching die.  The clouds are also from Lawn Fawn.  I added a bit of stickles to the clouds and bunny tails for a bit of sparkly.

Have a happy day...

hello... little prince

Hey friends!!  Popping with a card for the current Less is More, little ones, challenge, as well as the current Stampin' Celebration challenge... a lovely sketch.

Using the "little ones" theme I went with a baby card and used the super cute Lawn Fawn set Hello Baby.   The papers are from the My Mind's Eye Jubilee Mint Julep 6x6 pad.  I fiddled around with several light green inks before deciding to use VersaMagic Aloe Vera for the lily pad and grass.  The little frog prince was die cut from some of the patterned paper and stamped in black.  I added Crystal Stickles to his crown.   The dotted ric rac looking border was cut with a Top Dog Dies border die.  In hindsight I think I should have stamped the "hello" in another spot instead of next to the "little prince", but I do like how everything turned out.

Thanks for stopping by..

happy adoption...

Hello!!  Here with a quick share for this week's Less is More challenge.  The challenge this week is to use an animal on your card and initially I wasn't going to play along.  But as I was working on several other projects that I will be sharing later this coming week, I remembered a card that I made for a recent submission call for CardMaker magazine.  I really loved how the card turned out, but unfortunately the editors at CardMaker didn't love it and it was rejected.  So, here I am sharing it with you!

The stamps and dies are from Lawn Fawn (my first ever set of stamps and dies from them).  I used papers from the BasicGrey Highline 6x6 pad.  The doily was die cut using a Cheery Lynn doily die and the banners using the PTI Notched Hearts banner die.  An overlay of vellum was also die cut using that same set of dies.  After putting everything together I stamped the sentiment, trimmed the out and adhered them as shown.  Not a ton of white space, but this is still a pretty clean and simple card.  I am also going to post this to CASology as welcoming a new baby into a family is always magic!  Funny... I just realized that the last time I entered CASology I think I used this same set!
