Simon Says Stamp You Are My Favorite Release!

Hello everyone!  I'm back to share three projects I made with the lovely Timeless Blossoms stamp set from the new Simon Says Stamp release called You Are My Favorite.  Simon was so kind and sent me this pretty stamp set to create with!  Let's have a look at what I made.

The Timeless Blossoms stamp set has lot of great sentiments including the Happy Mother's Day sentiment.  With Mother's Day just around the corner I thought it appropriate to make Mother's Day cards.  I used the color combo from Color Hues to stamp my floral heart.  I used two Pinkfresh Studio inks:  Soft Lilac and Ocean Breeze.  The floral heart is comprised of three separate stamps.  The first stamp are the leaves, the second has the lily like flower and roses and the final layer has more roses.  After stamping the first layer using the Ocean Breeze ink I stamped the second layer 6 times with the Soft Lilac in order to get the darker lilac color I wanted.  The third layer was stamped twice with the Soft Lilac.   I die cut the panel and then adhered it to another larger panel of light gray cardstock.  I adhered a twine bow and the sentiment over the top of it.  The tiny sequins are light aqua in color.

The Timeless Blossoms stamp set also includes a small swag image, as well as one single rose with leaves.  I used those two sets of stamps for the second Mother's Day card.  This time I went with a peach and coral color combo and a pale green for the leaves.   To get the swags stamped equal distance apart I stamped the first layer and then rotated my cardstock 180 degrees and stamped the layer again.  Then I stamped the second layer, rotated the cardstock and stamped the second layer.  Did that one more time for the final layer.  Then I positioned and stamped the single rose and leaves in the same way.  I die cut the panel with a Simon Says Stamp A2 frames die to create the frame and then with a smaller die from the same set to create the interior panel.   I stamped the sentiment in light gray ink and then adhered the panel inside the frame using foam tape.  I finished with tiny clear sequins.

For my final project I decided to create a little decor piece.   I started by stamping the floral heart

Using a yellow, lilac and olive green color scheme.  Since the image is heart shaped, I wanted to see if it would fit inside of this pretty scalloped edge heart die, I have from another Simon Says Stamp stamp and die set I have called Happy Hello.  I was so excited to see that it was a pretty perfect fit!   I painted a Tim Holtz frame with white paint and added polka dot patterned paper to the back before adhering it to the frame.  The heart was popped up in the center using foam squares.  I then stamped the two little roses and leaves and fussy cut them out.  The sentiment is a from a Simon Says Stamp set that is 10 years old!  I rediscovered it as I was going through my stash looking for the right sentiment.  I think the sentiment is just perfect for this piece!  I stamped it in gray ink, die cut it with the matching die and popped it up with foam squares.   The little corner flowers were also popped up.  I just love how this turned out.   I'm going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge of blooming blooms.

Well, that is it for me.  Don't forget to check out the new Simon Says Stamp release.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Having Fun With 49 and Market...

Hey friends!  I'm popping in with two projects that I made with some newly purchased products from 49 and Market.  I will be posting one project to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (birthday) and the other project will be heading over to the Paper Players (travel) and Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (tag it).   So, let's get to it!

My first project is a birthday card that I made using laser cuts from the 49 and Market Starlight Dreams collection.  When I purchased the Starlight Dreams laser cuts I didn't think I would need the patterned paper pack, but now I have decided that I do need it, lol!  I'm not really into celestial motifs, but I couldn't resist the gorgeous designs in the laser cut pack.   For this card I used a set of angel wings, a floral piece, some feathers and butterflies.  For the background I used a light blue cardstock that I embossed with a layering die from Birch Press Design.  The sentiment was hot foiled and is also from Birch Press Design.    Pretty quick to put together once I figured out what pieces I wanted to use and the arrangement.

This next project is a tag that I created for the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge and the Paper Players using another new line from 49 and Market called Wanderlust Explorer.  What sold me on this collection was the ability to make masculine projects like birthday cards.    I used a few Tim Holtz Idea-ology products with this tag.  Namely, a #8 thick board tag, a thick board scalloped trim, a window frame base board and crackle paste.  I trimmed out some of the patterned paper to fit the tag and adhered it with collage medium.   I covered the scalloped trim and part of the window frame with crackle paste and let it dry.  Once dry I applied paint in a soft teal and orange wiping some of the paint off.  I trimmed down the scalloped piece and then applied collage medium to the trim and window to seal them.  Ground Espresso distress crayon was added to all the pieces I picked out, as well as the tag and then I got to layering everything.   I used glue and thin foam squares to add my pieces.  I finished with the little sentiment that is also from Tim Holtz.   I love how it turned out.  I was, again, inspired by the super talented Emma Williams who is a member of the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge design team.

Well, that is it for me!  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Christmas Makes...

Merry Christmas to everyone!  I hope everyone had a wonderful day spent with family and/or friends!  As my blog post indicates, I have some Christmas makes to share so lets get started!

First up is a Christmas decor piece that I created using lots and lots of fun Tim Holtz Idea-ology Christmas products.  I was 100% inspired by the amazing Emma Williams.   If you have never seen her blog, check it out now.  She creates incredible works of mixed media art!   I had a lot of fun making this even though the mica flakes I used are alittle messy, lol!

This next piece is something I have wanted to make ever since I got Chilly and Freezy two years ago as a freebie from Simon Says Stamp.   I finally got the time last week after my son had his wisdom teeth out last week.  Again, I had a lot of fun creating this little scene with the snowmen watching Santa fly across the sky with his reindeer!  I cheated a little and used some patterned paper from Simple Stories that already had the snowy scene on it.  I just darkened up the top with some distress oxide ink in Uncharted Mariner and Black Soot.  Adding this to the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge and Wednesday challenge.

The Simon Says Stamp December card kit included a decoupage kit from Craft Consortium.  I put these cards together using that kit and Prima patterned paper that also came in the kit.   I gave the cards to my great nephew and great nieces with some "Christmas Cash".    I jazzed them up a bit by adding glossy accents and Rock Candy glitter to some of the snowy areas on the images.  I still have 5 more left and have plans to create some Christmas decor pieces with them.

These cards were made with patterned paper, laser cuts and ephemera bits from the 49 and Market Evergreen Season collection.  I made these for my mom to give to the big grandkids.  I went with a postal theme and used the Pinkfresh Studio Post Edge dies to die cut the papers.   The sentiments are Memory Box Christmas labels.  So glad I had these products on hand to put together some cards quickly!

And finally a card made with a very old, but one of my most favorite stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp.  I gold embossed the sentiment and the floral sways on Spellbinders Mahagony cardstock.  I fussy cut the swags and die cut the sentiment with a Pinkfresh Studio elegant die.  The gold cardstock was also die cut with PFS die.  Everything was layered on a Mahagony cardstock base and then I finished with tiny gold pearls.

Thanks for making it to end!  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Winter Wonderland Tag

Hi friends!  Popping in to share a project that I made for one of my monthly Birch Press Design posts.  I have had this idea rolling around in my head for several months now and it pretty much turned out exactly has I had envisioned it would.  Let's have a look.

I started out by painting a #8 Tim Holtz thickboard tag with white paint.  Once it was dry I sanded off some of the paint (even though you don't really see it), applied some multi matte medium to the tag and adhered the patterned paper that came from the Memory Box Poinsettia Plaid 6x6 pad.  I roughed up the edges of the paper a bit and curled some of the corners, as well.  Then I added some Memory Box snowflake rubons to the tag.

I die cut the Holly and Berries Contour Layers die from vellum and then added the "berries" using Nuvo drops in a matte gold.  As my blog title indicates, I was really going for a winter wonderland look so kept everything muted.  I had previously die cut the large circle from Memory Box cream woodgrain cardstock and had tucked into the envelop with the dies so I had that already to go.  I then die cut it further using the Wavy Hillside dies and adhered the layers to another die cut circle.  I used different heights of foam squares for the bottom and middle layers.  The top layer was adhered with glue.   I die cut the Littletown Village pieces from white cardstock and the patterned paper used for the tag base.  The houses were adhered together, glossy accents added to the roofs and then I dipped them in Rock Candy glitter.

Before adding all the elements I applied some Icicle crackle paste to the tag and let it dry.  When the houses were dry I added them to the hillsides along with the trees.  The circle was adhered to the tag and then I added the vellum holly piece.  I trimmed the stem a little and removed one of the leaves that I tucked in behind at the top of the stem.  I finished off the tag by adding the little twine bow, the Memory Box white Christmas labels and some Snowfall grit paste.

I'm going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge to use die cuts.  Well, that's it for me.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wondeful day!

mixed media tag...

Hello and happy March!  Can you believe it is already March?  Where is the time going?!  Spring isn't quite here, yet, but I'm definitely in a spring-like mood!   With that in mind, I decided to play along with the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge of fur or feathers.  And I will add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.  The amazing Emma William, who is on SSS Monday challenge design team, created a beautiful tag featuring a bird.  Her tag is a bit more moodier than mine, but I was 100% inspired by her tag.  Take a look at what I made.

I started off my tag by spritzing a #8 distress heavy stock tag with a combination of Speckled Egg, Salvaged Patina and Antique Linen distress spray stains and Frozen Fog distress mica spray.  I dried the tag in between the layers of color.  Once the tag was dry I uses a Simon Says Stamp pine bough stencil and some grit paste to add more texture to the background.  I also added some crackle paste.  Once both pastes were dry I scribbled some distress crayons in ground espresso and crushed olive onto an acrylic block, spritzed on some water, mixed the colors and then dabbed them onto the pastes with my finger.  I then adhered my tag to a #8 Etcetera thickboard tag.  Once that was dry I rubbed more of the ground espresso/crushed olive mix around the edge of the tag.

For the bird I used my favorite Backyard Wren die set from Memory Box.  The twiggy wreath, feathers blossom stem and budding stems are from the Greetery.   For the wreath I sprized heavy stock with walnut stain and Crooked Broomstick distress mica spray.  I spritzed on water to move the colors around.  Once the panels were dry I die cut them with the wreath die and two dies that cut twiggy branches for layering on the wreath.  There is a wreath stamp that coordinates with the wreath base and I used that to stamp on some Scorched Timber distress ink.  Once that was dry I adhered on the branches.  The other pieces were inked with distress oxide inks in Speckled Egg, Pumice Store, Vintage Photo, Spun Sugar and Bundled Sage.   I assembled everything, let them dry and then adhered them to the tag as you see.  I finished off the tag with some chunky twine and a small key that I tried to grunge up with some grit paste and ground espresso distress crayon.  A small pin was used to attach the key to the twine.    I'm super pleased with how my tag turned out.

snow much thanks...

Hello!  Did you see?!  There is a new release from Simon Says Stamp!  Yep... another release for Diecember!  You can find all the fabulous new products in the To The Moon release right here.  (Compensated affiliate link used.)  Simon was so kind and sent me the Geometric Lattice 3D embossing folder.  (Compensated affiliate link used.)   I had a panel of Simon Says Stamp Fog cardstock (my favorite light gray cardstock) on my desk and so I embossed it using my new Platinum 6.  It embossed like a dream!   I turned that panel into a card!

I seem to be in a pale blue snowflake mood lately and so I die cut the SSS Sophie snowflake die from pale blue cardstock.  I left many of the pieces in place and adhered the snowflake to my embossed panel with foam tape.  I adhered the panel to my white cardbase with adhesive tape.  The sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Frozen Fractals stamp set.  I stamped it on what cardstock in black and die cut it with a little tag die from Trinity Stamps.  I added some white twine to the tag and adhered it.  I finished with some pretty light blue baubles from Trinity Stamps.  Going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge to bling it on.  I went back and forth about entering this in Freshly Made Sketches, but decided to go for it as I think it fits.

Thanks for stopping by!

More Christmas cards

Hello!  Popping in with a couple more Christmas cards that I made.  The first one is for Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches.  I used my Glimmer hot foiling system to create this card.  I recently shared a project using the Spellbinders Kaleidescope Triangles die set and I used one of the dies to create my tree.  I found a piece of cardstock that was a light aqua blue that was large enough to make two triangles using the die and green foil.  The foiling is very subtle and pretty in real life.  I have a close up photo, but even that doesn't really show how pretty the foiling is.   Once I had the triangles foiled I hand trimmed them out.   I die cut some gold cardstock using the smallest snowflake from the Spellbinders November small die kit and then cut trunks for my trees from the same cardstock.   The Merry Christmas was gold foiled using the Glimmer and I just love how the sentiment turned out.  It is so pretty in real life!  The white cardstock panel was trimmed down and adhered to a green cardstock base.  I then adhered the triangle trees, the snowflake and three little sequins.   Adding this to the current Time Out challenge of Merry and Cheerful.  I think my trees a rather cheerful!

The second card didn't exactly turn out has I had hoped it would, but sometimes that happens, right?  When I got the Spellbinders November small die kit I die cut one of the snowflakes from some glitter paper I had in a copper color.  It was just there on my work space so I decided to cut additional snowflakes from the same paper and then I adhered them to the beige cardstock panel and die cut it with a rectangle die from AJVD.  I did not have another small snowflake that would fit in the empty spaces so I used clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.  Then came the problem of finding a sentiment.  I decided to use dies from previous Spellbinders small dies kits and cut them from the copper glitter paper and the beige cardstock.  The beige was slightly offset, but it still doesn't provide enough contrast and so the sentiment sort of disappears into the panel.  Live and learn.  I think I will add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of traditional Christmas

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

you are amazing...

Happy weekend everyone!  Popping in with a card that I made using supplies from the Simon Says Stamp Kind Heart card kit.   Love the fun puffy stickers from Pinkfresh Studio that are part of the kit.  I combined some of those stickers with the stamp sets that are also in the kit for my card.  I stamped the flowers and leaves using the two little ink cubes that are in the kit to stamp on some of the Pinkfresh Studio pattern paper and then added the sentiment (part of one of the sentiments from the small stamp set in the kit) and then added the puffy word amazing.  A few of the puffy hearts were added and then I adhered the panel to a cardstock base made from cardstock from the kit.  Super simple.  Adding this to the CAS(E) This Sketch link up and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge link up.

Have a wonderful day!

smile...

Hello!!  Crafting has been a struggle for me lately.  Hubby is replacing our family room floor and since my crafting space is in the kitchen and the kitchen is connected to the family room well... trying to find a little peace and quiet to do anything is pretty scarce!  But last night I found some time to put together this clean and simple take on the current MFT sketch.  I also used the current MFT color challenge for the card.  Killing two challenges with one card, lol!!  Well... since I'm adding this to the current Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (stamp it) and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (anything goes).  I die cut the smile from a piece of white cardstock that I die cut with an MFT Fishtail Flag Stax die and then die cut the smile from a blue cardstock similar to MFT's Cornflower.  The sentiment (from All Smiles) was stamped in Hero Arts Soft Granite (which is similar to Blue Steel) and then die cut with one of the banner dies that was the free with $60 die from MFT.   I stamped the flowers from the Plentiful Petals set in Ripe Raspberry and Tropical Teal and then die cut them with the matching dies.   Layered everything up per the sketch and I was done.  Pretty pleased with how my card turned out.

Have a wonderful day!

for all you do...

Hello... have another card for the current Viva La Verve sketch challenge to share.  With school starting in just a few days I decided to make a teacher thank you card.  The current challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge is back to school so I will be posting it there, too.   I used the wreath stamp from the Verve Autumn Blessings stamp set along with the apple images and a sentiment from Teachers Count.  The wreath and apples were embossed in black on watercolor paper and then colored with ZIGs.  Die cutting the apples was a bit tricky since the apple dies are solid, but thankfully I was able to get a nice cut on both of them.  Since I used woodgrain cardstock for the smaller rectangle I stamped the sentiment into the lower corner of the card.  Super simple, but sometimes you just have to do simple!!  The Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge is also school related so I will post this in that gallery, too.

otterly great birthday... take 2

Hello!!  The weekend is upon us and I have a card to share.  Last week I made a card using the super cute MFT Otterly Love You stamp set.  I made the card for last week's MFT sketch challenge, but for some reason did not get it posted in the gallery... grrr!!  So When I saw this week's sketch I thought I would make another shaker card using the same set.  I used a different otter image, but I did use the same sentiment as I'm still in birthday card making mode, lol!  I also used a few other images from the set, but kind of covered them up with the shaker mix that I used.  I will also be posting this to the current MFT color challenge as I used those colors, again, for my card.  I have been practicing my watercoloring in an effort to get better at it.  I decided to give Bristol cardstock another try and had much better results with it.   I will also add this to the current Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge to use red, white and/or blue since I have used all three colors on my card.

Have a wonderful day!

get your happy on!

Hello there!!  Popping in with a quick little card that I put together for a few challenges... Color Throwdown, Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (great outdoors) and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (a hint of pink).   Must admit my aqua is more in the green family of aqua than the blue mainly because I thought that Stampin' Up!'s Pool Party had more blue in it than it actually does, lol, but I think that is okay.   Quite awhile ago I purchased the Concord & 9th Fill In Phrases stamp set and it has been sitting in my little work area (my kitchen counter) ever since it arrived at my house.  I finally used it for my card today... YAY!!  The card is pretty self-explanatory.  Solid image stamped in pink, detail image in light purple and the stems and leaves in aqua.  The sentiment was stamped in VersaFine Smoky Gray.   I added some Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard for some added interest, but you can't see them!  (I think if you click on the photo to make it larger you will, tho!)   I just love the oversized sentiments in the Fill In Phrases set!  I think the one I used is perfect for a birthday card.
Have a wonderful day...

for a special teacher

Hello everyone!!  Popping in with a card for the current Reverse Confetti Sketch For You To Try as well as the current Essentials by Ellen Mix It Up challenge because this month's challenge is to mix Reverse Confetti with Essentials by Ellen.  This week has been teacher appreciation and so I used the RC sketch to create a card for my son's teacher.  I used the RC stamp set All Apples as well as the matching dies.   Two apples were die cut from a RC quick card panel as were the leaves and stems.  The apple with the sentiment "for a special teacher" was stamped with a matching red ink and then die cut with the apple die.  Another quick card panel was trimmed down for the bottom of the card and then I added the red/white baker's twine.  I added the apples and I was finished with the front of the card.  For the inside I stamped a trimmed down piece of white cardstock with "thank you" from the Essentials by Ellen Fancy Thanks stamp set and the little heart.  A strip of the same black gingham paper was added to the bottom and then the piece was adhered to finish off the card.  I hope my son's teacher likes it!  I think I will also add this to the current Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge of the great outdoors.

Have a wonderful day...

a note of thanks...

Hello!! Well... the holiday weekend is coming to a close and I finally found a little bit of time to make something albeit not my best effort, but that is how it goes sometimes, right?  I really wanted to make something for Color Throwdown and I had also been wanting to use the wheat dies from Reverse Confetti so I put the two together.   When I originally started this card I was going to use a different sketch, but when I saw the one from Paper Players thought I would use it instead.  I die cut the outline wheat image from a light blue, sage green and amber yellow cardstock three times each and then used spray adhesive to adhere them together.  I love using spray adhesive for delicate die cuts.  The only thing I don't like is that I have to go out to our garage in order to use the stuff... fumes and all.   Then I added a wash of gray to some watercolor cardstock using a gray ZIG.  Once that was dry I die cut it and then adhered the wheat die cuts.  The banner was die cut from white and the amber color cardstock using the banner from the RC Tag Me die set.  The sentiment (from the RC set Class Act) was stamped and then die cut using the circle die from the RC Fresh 'n Fruity die set.  The main panel was matted with some additional sage green cardstock and then everything was adhered to a light blue cardstock base.  Is anyone else a little frustrated with the changes that Google made to Blogger?  I don't know why they had to change something that worked just fine, but they did!!   Going to add this to the current Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge of trio-tastic.

Hope you have a wonderful day...

PTI October Blog Hop...

Hello!! Hope your week is off to a good start!  Stopping in with my card for this month's PTI blog hop.  We got another beautiful inspiration photo from Nichole which you can see below.  When I saw the photo I immediately thought of my Turning a New Leaf stamp set.  I did use that set, but only to stamp the little branches you see behind the die cut branch.  I also used Background Basics: Text Style, Fall Elegance and a little berry image from Rustic Wreath.  The leafy branch was die cut using the PTI Branching Out die.  I first colored up some water color paper using Scattered Straw and Ripe Persimmon distress markers.  When the paper was dry I die cut it and then colored the leaves and branch further using Scattered Straw and Ripe Persimmon markers, as well as some brown ZIG markers.  Once everything was dry I added a bit of Ice Stickles to some of the leaves on the branch, as well as to the stem.  I cut a piece of woodgrain patterned paper and then stamped it with one of the Text Style images using light gray ink.  The small branch from Turning a New Leaf using SU! Always Artichoke ink.   The little berries were added using a SU!'s Ruby Red ink.  Once the stamping was finished I adhered the branch and the little bow tied from some dark brown twine.  I'm also going to add this to the current Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge of Autumn.
Hope you have a wonderful day... happy hopping!!

bloom...

Hey friends!!  Popping with a card that I made for several challenges.  The current Essentials by Ellen Mix It Up challenge is asking us to mix our Essentials by Ellen products with products from Concord & 9th.  I recently got some happy mail in the form of a new EE stamp set (from the late summer release) and several stamp sets and dies from Concord & 9th.  I combined the Mix It Up challenge with the current Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches challenges.  Since the Simon Says Stamp Monday and Wednesday challenges are "stamp it" I will also be adding my card to those line ups.  I cut a piece of white cardstock and then stamped it with the Barnwood Background using light grey ink.  The large blossom from the Brushed Blossom stamp set was stamped using yellow ink and then the leaves were added using aqua ink.  I then overlaid the die cut on top and stamped the sentiment from the Essentials by Ellen Lovely set in black ink.  The Barnwood Background was stamped again using the same aqua ink and trimmed to fit my yellow card base.  I finished things off by adding some pale yellow Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Hope you have a wonderful day...
