ODBDSLC128... For the Guys

Hello friends!!  Tuesday is here and that means time for another Shining the Light challenge.  This week the challenge team is asking you to make a card for a guy... something I think all of us find hard to do... I know I find it hard!   Today marks the last challenge for our very special guest Bridget.   Make sure you stop by her blog and leave her some love!   I would also like to ask everyone to please pray for all our fellow crafters and bloggy friends who live on the East Coast and who are now experiencing the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Initially I thought I was going to use the ODBD set The Mighty Sea, but then as I was going through all my ODBD sets to find that particular one I pulled out the set Never Give Up and decided to use that set along with the Grunge Cross and matching die.  As this is a card for a guy I kept everything really, really simple.  I stamped the grunge cross image from Never Give Up using Ranger's Gathered Twigs distress ink and then inked up the piece using Old Paper and Vintage Photo distress inks.  Once I finished the inking I used my distressing tool to rough up the edges and add a few tears here and there.  The single grunge cross was stamped using Gather Twigs and die cut using the matching grunge cross die.  Some distress ink was added to the cross along with an antique looking brad.   I stamped the sentiment using black ink and then adhered the cross.   A nice grungy, masculine card, don't you think?

As always, we will be giving out a prize, a $15.00 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Sunday, November 4th at 8:00 pm EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced on Tuesday. While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Design images and sentiments on your projects, we would definitely love to see them if you have them!! As a way of recognizing those who do use ODBD stamps we will be choosing three or more of our participants for the Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award or join the challenge, you must use ODBD stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday, November 4th at 8:00 pm EST. If you upload to Splitcoaststampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword: ODBDSLC128. When creating your post on your blog, please include a direct link to the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by... please take some time to check out the beautiful projects created by my fellow "sticks" Lori, Jan Marie, Jan, Kathy, Chris, and this month's guest designer, Bridget! To join in the fun, please click here.
