CCC #52... a neon hi!

Hello friends!!  Sorry I'm late with my CASology post!  I spent time on Monday afternoon getting it ready only to find out that it did not get saved!!  YIKES!!!  Anywhoo...I'm here now!  The new cue word is neon... lots of fun directions you can go in with that one.  And we have a super talented guest designer, Shirley, as well as a great sponsor, Avery Elle.  All the info can be found here.

Mixed media is all the rage right now and I have seen lots of really fun projects made using mixed media.  Unfortunately, it is a trend that I will not be following as I don't have the necessary space to make a mess and be able to leave it while things dry.  But I can take a little bit of that trend and make a slightly mixed media yet still CAS design.  To get that look I used a stamp set from My Favorite Things called Distressed Background Blocks.  I stamped the background on my cardstock using Memento Dandelion ink, inked the edges and then distressed with a distressing tool.  I used the same background stamp on the fishtail flag, as well as the little circle.  The word "hi" was die cut using the MFT Happy Hellos die-namics.  I used the Dynamic Duos color combo of bright yellow and bright green so I will be popping the card into that challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and for making it through my long post, lol... I cannot wait to see what "fireworks" related ideas all you super talented papercrafters come up with for this challenge!! In the meantime make sure you check out the cards from the rest of the design team: Melissa, Judy, Meghan, Ardyth, Gillian, Maureen, Kimberly, Jen and Tracey and our guest designer, Shirley!

Supplies:  Cardstock:  PTI white; Stamps:  My Favorite Things; Dies:  My Favorite Things & Spellbinders; Inks:  Memento; Sequins: Ellen Hutson

Hello Rosie
I love the stamps you have used to imitate mixed media; it looks great, and you have still managed to keep it clean looking, which is a miracle, knowing how messy I become when I work within this medium!!!

Love the distressed look!!

True, I get messy enough with just stamps! Being left handed, I also tend to impress my arms, that may not just be a lefty thing, but I do it allot!! Lol! My husband will say, " nice tattoo you have there!"
