moments....

Hello friends!!   Happy Wednesday!!  Hope your week is going well... yesterday was hot, hot, hot, but I had a migraine and wasn't able to enjoy any of it.  Even had to turn down an opportunity to hang out at the pool of a local country club with my sister!  So.. was looking forward to the migraine being gone and enjoying some sun on Wednesday and what happens??? It gets cold and cloudy!!!  Ugh!!!  Anyway... despite the fact that I had a migraine I was able to get a card started that I finished this morning.   This card is for the current ColourQ challenge and for Chupa's Sketchbook Saturday sketch.

I have been playing along with Sketchbook Saturday for quite sometime now and since this is Chupa's 100th sketch I definitely had to make something using the sketch.  I recently purchased PTI's Happiness in Bloom set and tried to make a card for Sketchbook Saturday sketch #99 with it, but it just wasn't working.  This time, however, I had a different (and better) outcome!  I decided to go a little bit outside my box and combine dry embossing with washi tape for the two block elements in the design.  I partially embossed the top portion white cardstock piece with my Swiss Dot embossing folder and then to keep some continuity to the design used black polka dot washi tape for the bottom portion.  The flowers were die cut, stamped and then Ice Stickles were added to the centers.  The leaves were cut from green cardstock and then stamped with the leaf image.   I just love the main sentiment that comes in the Happiness in Bloom set because it reminds me of my favorite saying:  "We do not remember days, we remember moments".  Overall I'm pretty darn happy with how the card turned out.

Thanks for stopping by...

Supplies:  Cardstock:  PTI white; SU! Gumball Green; Stamps:  PTI Happiness in Bloom; Inks:  Memento Bamboo Leaves, Hero Arts:  Orange Soda & Butter Bar; Washi Tape:  Impress; Dies:  PTI; Ranger Ice Stickles

Beautiful bright card, I love that washi tape of yours :) For Migraine you can try some accupressure points, it really helps, at least it helps me ;). You can search for accupressure points on youtube or maybe consult a practitioner :) take care

Love how the black makes everything pop even more, Rosemary! I keep thinking I don't need that PTI stamp set, but everytime I see it used I want it again! Beautiful work!

Sorry you had a migraine, they are the worst thing to have. Have you tried migraine meds? My sister gets bad ones that sometimes last for days, but she suffers with them all the time.

But on to your card. It's just beautiful. How you made it with a migraine is beyond me. I love the stamp set you used. I really like the sentiment. Very well done.

Hello Rosie,
How your blooms pop! This is a great example of a card with perfect composition, adding the black and white washi tape certainly lifts the card to another level.
A wonderful interpretation of the colour palette.
Smiles :-)

You sure have creative migraines, Rosemary! This card is beautiful! Seriously, I get them, too, so I can empathize and I'm sorry you got one on a sunny day and missed an outing with your sis. Take care!!

Love how your flowers pop off of the polka dots and the dry embossed dots on top provide the perfect balance.

Sorry to hear about your migraine. :( I get them too and I hate how much time gets lost to them. I recently started using Maxalt when I get them and despite the nasty minty taste of it it really does help.
