Hey there!!   Have a card to share that I made for a couple of challenges.  Honestly, this card (and another one I made and will share at a later date) almost didn't get made.  I don't know about you, but I have many, many days when I have lots of ideas, but when I try to execute them nothing works out.  I had one of those days yesterday.  I had several ideas for cards, but they all ended up in the "round file", lol!  After those failures it was close to time for me to pick my little guy up from school.  Once we returned (after a short trip to the playground so he could play with this best bud) I decided to try again and YAY... I got two cards made!   This one is for ColourQ and CAS(E) this Sketch.

I hadn't made anything with my favorite Precious Remembrance Shop set DIY in AGES and so I got that out and used a lot of the different sentiment segments to create my card.  Once all the sentiment stamping was done I added the little splats in the various ColourQ colors... but something was missing.  Dry embossing??? Maybe, but I didn't want to emboss the whole thing, only portions.  So I did a test run of an idea I had with a piece of scrap cardstock and I liked what I saw. The idea involved an embossing folder and a small mallet.  So I did it on my stamped piece... absolutely love the look!!  After that was done I mounted the piece on a pale blue cardstock base.

Thanks for stopping by...

Supplies:  Cardstock:  PTI white & spring rain; Stamps:  PRS DIY; Inks:  Stampin Up!, Memento and PTI; Embossing folder:  Lifestyle Crafts honeycomb

It warms my heart to know that even 'you' have issues with designing once in a while...and I love your expression the "round file"!!! Very clever!

This is such a fun card, Rosemary! I love the stamps you chose for these colors, and the sentiment is perfect for the sketch!

Genius idea to think of selectively dry embossing with a mallet!!! It really adds something special to your design:)

Love all the mixture of different fonts and love the partial dry embossing too! What is a mallet?

What a clever way to dry emboss randomly, Rosemary! I love the way you used the sentiments and splattered the colors, too.

Well, I love this card to pieces and I'm dying to know how you partially embossed with a mallet! (My card would be all wrinkled and ruined if I did that!) What a brilliant combination of stamps...and great use of the color Q colors, too!

Oh for crying out loud, Rosemary! You should patent the mallet idea--LOVE the look you got & I'll be using it for sure! Wish when I came back after nothing working I'd end up with a card like this! Pinning yet another of your superb creations!
