happy anniversary...
Hello! I popping in with another card made with new product from the April Spellbinders release. This time I'm using a new die set from Becca Feeken called Layered Daisies etched dies from the Layered Fleurs Bouquet Slimlines collection. I used the color palette from Sunday Stamps and the sketch from the Paper Players for my card so I will be posting it there. Compensated affiliate links will be listed at the bottom of this post. Using my links allows me to earn a small commission at no cost to you. Thank you for using my links. Here is my card:
I have been going to the same person to have my hair cut and colored for 22 years and at the beginning of June she and her husband will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. I will be giving Dee Dee this card. I hope she likes it! I die cut the flowers from white cardstock and then applied distress inks in Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade and Shabby Shutters to the flowers and leaves with small blending brushes. Once I had them all layered up I had to determined the lay out per the Paper Players sketch. After I figured that out I die cut some white cardstock with a Fluted Classic rectangle die. I blended on some Shaded Lilac and then added my flowers and leaves. The sentiment is from a Glimmer sentiment set called Sentiments for Everyday set, was foiled using black foil and then die cut with the matching die. I added the sentiment and then added the panel to a cardstock base. I'm also going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.

Spellbinders April Release... Take 3
Hello! I'm popping in with a couple more cards that I created using new products from the Spellbinders April release. Today I'm using products from the Color Block Background collection. (Compensated affiliate links used where possible. All links are listed at the end of this post. Using my links allows me to earn a small commission at no cost to you. Thank you for your support.) Here are my cards:
This card uses the new Color Block Slimline Edges dies from the Color Block Background collection and the colors from Color Hues. I used two shades of Spellbinders purple cardstock (Lilac Blossoms and Purple Mist) and the scalloped die to cut my different layers. Initially I was going to do a gradient look, but decided to use the layout you see above. It was a bit tricky to get very thing laid down with the right spacing, but in the end I got it done. I hot foiled the sentiments with green foil using a die from the June 2021 Glimmer club kit. A simple, yet complex design, lol!
The next card is a mini slimline created using the Color Block Cloudscape dies and the Peacock Feathers Pop Up die cutting glitter foam collection. I used the dark blue. I also used peachy color from the Painted Desert Pop Up die cuttting glitter foam collection for the moon. The sentiment was foiled using gold foil and a sentiment from the February 2021 Glimmer club kit called Scalloped Rectangle Glimmer Essentials with Sentiments. I did some ink blending on the background with distress oxide inks and then added little stars with various different paint pens that I have in my collection. In order to get the moon to nestle into the cloud perfectly i used the cloud die that I cut the cloud with to die cut the moon. The moon die is from another Spellbinders club kit. This time the small die of the month kit from June 2021 called Colorblock Landscape. I'm going to add this card to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge as I think it fits the theme of rain or shine as I have clouds on my card.

may your day...
Hello friends! I'm popping in with a card for several different challenges: Freshly Made Sketches, Color Throwdown, the Paper Players and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge. (Compensated affiliate links listed at the bottom of this post. Using my links allows me to earn a small commission at no cost to you. Thank you for your support.) Here is what I created:
Several years ago Simon Says Stamp came out with a card kit that included the fun rainboot die that I used on my card and when I saw the challenge at the Paper Players I just knew I had to pull it out and use it. I die cut it from white cardstock and then colored it with Copic markers. I wanted to include the look of rain on my card so I started digging through my stencils for a raindrop stencil from MFT. I didn't find that stencil, but I did find one from a Hero Arts card kit from a few years ago. I'm so glad that I found it because I really like the rain/raindrop image that I was able to stencil on the SSS Fog Gray cardstock using Ranger texture paste in translucent matte. I also stenciled the same thing on my white cardstock. I love the subtle look it adds and it keeps the card pretty clean and simple. I finished with a sentiment from the SSS Sunflower Garden stamp set.

Simon Says Stamp Happy and Joyful Release!
Hello there! Did you see that there is a new release available from Simon Says Stamp?! The Happy and Joyful release is amazing (aren't they all?) and Simon was so kind to send me the GORGEOUS Celebrate Rose Corner stamp set. You can also get the matching die or both as a bundle. This set has a large floral image and many, many wonderful sentiments. (Compensated affiliate links used when possible. Using my links allows me to earn a small commission at no cost to you. Thank you for your support. All links listed at the bottom on this post.) Take a look at what I created:
For this first card I stamped the floral image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with Copic markers. Once I was done I decided that I was going to try my hand at making an edge to edge shaker. I have been saving packaging material for several months now in order to give it a try. There was a little bit of a learning curve for me, but I love the look! Once I got things worked out I filled my shaker pouch with the pretty SSS shaker mix called Mini Hearts Party. I was so intent on making my edge to edge shaker that I forgot about a sentiment! I ended up combing two sentiments from the set together and embossing them in black on vellum. I trimmed the sentiment down and wrapped it round the front. I wasn't sure about it at first, but I think it turned out okay.
The second card looks a lot like the first card just without the shaker element, lol! I guess I was in a mood to color with shades of pinky reds! For this one I pulled out my Jane Davenport Brights watercolors and did simple watercoloring after heat embossing the image in white on watercolor paper. Once I was done and the image was dry I die cut it with a A2 rectangle die. The sentiment was embossed in white on vellum, trimmed down and adhered with rolled up glue dots. I finished with some sparkly gems.
Make sure you check out the new release. Below is an affiliate list of many of the supplies I used:
Fabriano Artistico Watercolor Cardstock 5x7
Celebrate Rose Corner stamp set
Celebrate Rose Corner stamp and die set
Hero Arts White Embossing Powder

Spellbinders April Release - Take 2
Hello there! Hope things are well in your world. We have been having some crazy weather here in the Pacific Northwest. And when I say crazy I mean crazy like snow in April! We can get snow in April in the mountains, but not down where I live! Thank goodness it didn't hang around. Anywhoo... I have more projects to share using new products from the Spellbinders April release. (Compensated affiliate links used where possible. Using my links allows me to earn a small commission at no cost to you. I truly appreciate you using my links. A list of affiliate linked products used in this blog post will be provided at the end of the post.)
First up is this sweet little tag that I created using the colors from Color Throwdown and the inspiration photo from the Fusion challenge. Originally, I was going to add the tag to a card (and I may still do that) but decided to just keep it as a tag. The tag was created using the new Decorative Tag die set from the Inspired Basics collection. The tag comes with three inserts and a die that allows you to cut fringe. As you can see I used one of the inserts to die cut the bottom of the tag. I die cut a second solid tag from lavender cardstock and adhered that to the white tag. I used the tulip and leaves dies from the Artful Tulip die set to die cut the Simple Stories patterned paper for my little tulips. The little butterflies are from the Butterfly Burst die set and they were cut from blue polka dot paper. I arranged my little tulips and leaves and then adhered them along with the butterflies to my tag. I added silver pearls to the butterflies and then one additional one. The sentiment is from the Celebrate Sentiments Glimmer plates set and was foiled in black. I added the sentiment and the white bakers twine to finish off my tag. I love how it turned out!
This next card uses the new Solid Square Glimmer hot foil plate. I was super excited when I saw that Spellbinders was coming out with solid Glimmer plates. As you can see for my card I used the plate to foil a solid square using Aura foil as it is intend. The square was then die cut down to a slightly smaller size with a Spellbinders square die. But you can also use the solid plate in a different way. As many of you know a solid plate allows you to foil what would be the negative image left after you have foiled an image (I hope that makes sense). Because I receive my products well in advance of each month, I was able to experiment with the solid square foil plate and I created this card for the March release (2nd card in the post) using the plate. I hope to share another card soon using this technique. To finish off this card I die cut the the flowers and leaves from the Stitched Flower die set from various cardstock and adhered them to the square. A strip of the blue cardstock was adhered to my card front and then I adhered the foiled square. I finished with a sentiment from the Sentiments for Everyday set foiled with Aura foil.

Spellbinders April Release
Hello everyone! I hope your week is going well. I'm popping in with a couple of cards I made using new products from the April Spellbinders release. This release is loaded with lots of great basics and a really fun new product that I have used on the first card I am sharing. (Compensated affiliate links used where possible. Using my links allows me to earn a small commission at no cost to use. All links listed at the end of this post. Thank you for your support.)
This first card features a new die set from Becca Feeken called Half Slimline Oval die set from the Layered Fleur Bouquet Slimlines collection. I die cut the half oval from white cardstock twice and then from scrap cardstock four more times to make the frames a little more substantial. The sentiment beautiful friend is part of the die set and I used it to die cut the sentiment from that fun new product that I mentioned above: pop up glitter foam! There are four different color sets and I used the Peony Pinks set to cut the words. I used the Hemstitch slimline dies to die cut the aqua panel that I adhered my frames to and then added the sentiment to the center. There are two small flowers included in the Half Slimline Oval die set, but I used flowers from another die set called Petite Floral Potpourri. Those were cut from yellow cardstock and the leaves from white. I adhered the flowers and then added some Nuvo drops in a yellow with glitter in it to the centers of the flowers. I used the colors from the Paper Players so I will be adding this to their gallery.
This next card uses the Flowers for You glimmer plates and dies from the Inspired Basics collection. There is one plate that foils all three of the bouquets and then individual dies for each bouquet. I foiled the bouquets with black foil and then colored each one with Copic markers in shades of green for the leaves and yellows for the flowers. I die cut the Peridot cardstock panel with an essentials rectangle die and then embossed it with the embossing folder from the March embossing folder kit. The sentiment is from a Glimmer set that was released in March and was foiled in black as well.
I will be back in a few days with more projects created with new products! Here is a list of products I used for these cards
Supplies used:

empty grave...
Hello! I'm popping in with a quick post of an Easter card that I made using products from the Greetery. This is the only card I have managed to make for Easter and I really don't know why other than I thought I had lots and lots of time to make Easter cards (and initially I did, lol). Even though Easter is kind of late this year all that time I had just slipped away. Anyway, here is my card:
The card is very loosely based on the sketch from Sunday Stamps and the inspiration photo from the Card Concept. I decided to not use a shape in the center of the card per the Sunday Stamps sketch as I didn't really like it with the nest and the feathers that I used from the Greetery Curio Spring Findings die set. And the large sentiment from the Empty Grave set sort of served that purpose. Regarding the inspiration photo from the Card Concept I did use some of the colors, but in a muted fashion, as well as the idea of a bird: the feathers and nest. I used distress oxide inks for all the inking. I mainly used Gathered Twigs and Spun Sugar and then added the little pop of green with Mowed Lawn. I guess the best fit for my card would be the clean and layered category.

a happy rainbow...
Hello! Hope everyone is having a great week. My younger son is on spring break this week so we have been trying to get out and about. In between those little trips I have managed to create a card. This one is for... yep... Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches! Take a look:
I really love the Rainbow of Happiness bundle from Stampin Up! It is just so fun. I have been wanting to make another card with it and the above-mentioned challenges were the perfect vehicle. I found sequins in the CTD colors for my shaker rainbow. Since there are only three colors in the CTD combo and there are four arches in the rainbow I added in some iridescent sequins in the fourth arch. After cutting out my rainbow from white cardstock I decided to add some interest by embossing it with the April Spellbinder embossing folder. I love the fun sunray effect it gives the panel. I trimmed down an acetate piece and adhered it behind the openings. Then I added strips of foam adhesive. I carefully filled each section of the rainbow with the sequins. Not gonna lie... this took along time! Because I knew it wouldn't be easy to adhere the shaker element to the card base I opted to add some patterned paper to the back. I used patterned paper from Stampin Up! that coordinates with the Rainbow of Happiness bundle and I used that. I finished off the card with some twine tied around the top of my shaker element and the sentiment from the set stamped in black ink and die cut with a banner die.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Spellbinders April Club Kits!
Happy Friday and first day of April! Since it is the first day of April that means all the Spellbinders club kits are now available. You can find information about the club kits right here. Today I'm sharing two cards that I created with the April Glimmer kit and the embossing folder kit. First up is my card using the April Glimmer kit. (Compensated affiliate links used where possible. Using my links allows me to earn a small commission at no cost to you. Thank you for your support. All die cutting done with the Platinum 6. All foiling done with the Glimmer.)
This month's Glimmer kit is so fun! And it is works perfectly with the embossing folder kit as you will see with my second card. There is a large starburst plate that you can use to cover an entire A2 sized (or a bit larger) piece of cardstock. I decided to hot foil the starburst plate only once and then trim it down. I wanted to do something a bit bold and masculine, so I foiled the plate on black cardstock using the Aura foil from the kit. There are three sentiments in the kit, as well as the sunburst die and a circle die. I foiled two of the sentiments on black cardstock as well and then die cut them with the circle die. The second sentiment will be featured on the second card. I found a scrap of glitter cardstock that went well with the Aura foiling and die cut the sunburst element from that. I adhered the panel to kraft cardstock and then added the circular element. I love how it turned out! Going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.
I was still in the "go bold" frame of mind when I made the second card. This time I embossed gold foil cardstock with the April embossing folder. Because the folders are so large, I was able to position the cardstock in the folder so that the circle element in the folder is more up toward the top of my cardstock. I die cut the gold foil cardstock first with an essentials rectangle and then embossed it. I die cut the sunburst element from white cardstock, layered on the foiled sentiment and popped it up on the panel. I adhered the panel to a white cardstock base and then added the little stars that I die cut from black cardstock.
I hope you will check out all the club options. There are so many to pick from and the prices can't be beat! I will be back with a card made using the April stamp and die kit. Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!
