Hello!! Stopping in with a little card that I made based on a gorgeous cake I saw this morning on the
Cake Wrecks blog. If I'm feeling like I need a good laugh
Cake Wrecks is my go to site to put a smile on my face and make me laugh out loud!! During the week Jen (the owner of
Cake Wrecks) posts professionally (that term is used loosely for a lot of the cakes featured) make cakes that have gone horribly, horribly wrong. But... on Sundays she posts cakes that are the epitome of everything a well executed cake should be. Some are fun and whimsical and some are down right drop dead gorgeous. Today she is featuring cakes in the drop dead gorgeous category. So... what does this have to do with a card? Well, I'm not very good at taking a look at things around me and being inspired by them to make cards. I don't have multiple Pinterest boards or inspiration photos stored on my computer and I probably won't start doing either of those things anything soon, but I am I'm trying to work on that and so today I was inspired by this gorgeous cake (created by
Ligia De Santis) to make this card. I hope you like.
Since this is all stamping I'm popping this into the
Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge (stamps or stencils) and the
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (anything goes). I used stamps from the PTI Make It Market kit Beautiful Brushstrokes and inks from Stampin Up! and Close to My Heart to achieve the look I was going for. I finished by brushing a bit of yellow Stickles on to the flowers. Just realized that this will also work for the current
Time Out challenge of stamping so I will be posting it there, as well.
Thanks for stopping by...
Supplies: Cardstock and stamps: PTI; Inks: Stampin Up! So Saffron, More Mustard and Crumb Cake; Close to My Heart Barn Red and Autumn Terracotta; Yellow Stickles
