Fun with Copic Markers

A short post today with a card for the Moxie Fab Stamping with Markers challenge that ends tomorrow.   For my card I decided to do a little coloring on my stamps with Copic markers.   The technique works on the same principle as coloring on your stamps with regular makers and then spritzing the stamp with water and stamping to get a watercolor effect.   The only difference is with Copic markers you spritze the stamp with rubbing alcohol.   It is my understanding, though, that this technique is best when used with solid rubber stamps.  I have never tried this technique with clear stamps.  The other issue is the fact that Copics leave a stain behind on your solid rubber stamps, but I learned today that Staz-On stamp clear will remove the staining (yay!!)

For my card I used only two Copics (V06 & YG93).  The image is from Penny Black.  It took me several tries to get an image that wasn't oversprayed or undersprayed.  I have examples that show what it looks like when you spritz too much rubbing alcohol {the upper one} and when you spritz too little {the lower one}.   Sorry the photos aren't so good... its a rainy day here in northwest!

Thanks for taking a peek....

THIS is positively exquisite! {I know I say that ALL the time about your work - but your work is just ALWAYS exquisite!} So, how does a girl emphasize that just a TAD bit more? Dunno. I'll just say that YOU have definitely earned your certification: that's what I'm TALKIN' about! Yipeeeeeee!

Wow Rosi!!! This looks like a water color painting that should be put in a frame and hanged where it can be seen time and again. I have a greek watercolor picture in my office that reminds me of this beautiful image and I just love it! Thanks for telling your technique! Have a great rest of the week :)
