celebrate...

Hey there!!  As many of you know Precious Remembrance Shop's newest release is "Oh So Fun" and today the design team is showcasing that set with an emphasis on the "celebrate" sentiment in honor of the 4th of July!  Here is my take:
I also used two images from the Positive Thoughts set as a very loose interpretation of fireworks bursting in the air.  Some wood veneer stars were colored with the inks I used for the "fireworks" and then adered to the card.  I also used a second sentiment from Oh So Fun.

Thanks for stopping by... make sure to head over to the PRS blog to check out the other design team cards!

Clearly Whimsy Stamps June Release Blog Hop!!

Hey there!!  Back with my final projects for the Clearly Whimsy Stamps June release!  All the stamps and dies are now available in the Whimsy Stamps store.   We are again joined by guest designers Jen Carter and Becky Carafa!  You should have gotten here from Amy's blog.  If not, please make sure you head over to the Whimsy Stamps blog for the complete hop list and to start from the beginning.  Today one lucky hopper will win the following stamps and dies:  Time for Tea, Time for Tea Additions stamps and Time for Tea additions die set!!
Both of my cards use stamps and dies from the Time for Tea Collection and papers from the American Crafts Cut & Paste 6x6 pad.  I die cut the tea pot and cup and then stamped them and the flowers  using yellow and teal inks.  Aren't the little teapot and cup just adorable??  Added the strips of paper and then the sentiment.
The second card is based on the current Seize the Sketch layout.  I embossed the oval portion of the sketch on my yellow cardstock, added the patterned paper (from Cut & Paste) and then adhered the sentiment label.  The following are graphics of all the stamps and dies I used today.

be home soon...

Hey there... stopping in with a quick little post sharing a card that I made for the current CASology challenge and the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge:  Anything Goes
This week the cue word is "wood" and boy oh boy do I have a lot of little wooden pieces, lol!!  I have way too many packages of these fun little shapes and recently found another package that I had completely forgotten about.  Yikes.  The little pieces I used today are from the Crate Paper Stitched together line and a Studio Calico heart that I colored red.  The sentiment is from the Hero Arts clear set All the Time.  I added a little bit of woodgrain texture to my card base using my current favorite technique of partial embossing.

Thanks for stopping by...

Clearly Whimsy Stamps June Release Hop

Hello friends!!  Clearly Whimsy Stamps in releasing some fun new stamps and dies on Saturday, June 28th and today the design team is showcasing several of the new sets:  Happy Everything and matching dies and Distressed Backgrounds and Ink Splats.   We are joined by guest designers Jen Carter and Becky Carafa.  You should have gotten here from Heather's blog, but if you didn't then please head over to the Whimsy Stamps blog for the complete hop list.  There is a prize up for grabs, $15.00 gift certificate, so you will want to make sure that you stop at each blog on the hop.

My card is uses the new Happy Everything stamp set and the matching "happy" word die.  My layout is based on the current AAA Card challenge (CASEing dt member Vicki).  I went with the overall layout of her card and some of the colors, but changed things up just a bit by applying three rows of washi tape (being careful to line everything up) to my cardstock piece instead of inking like Vicki.  The "happy" was die cut and adhered to the washi tape.  The balloons were stamped, trimmed out and adhered.  I hand drew in the string and then stamped the "birthday sentiment underneath.    Here is the stamp and die that I used today:

PTI June Blog Hop...

{for my Colour Me...! post, please click here}

Hello friends... time for the June PaperTrey Ink blog hop!  This time Nichole gave us several color combos, sketches and an inspiration photo to work with.  I decided to use one of the color combos and combine it with one of the sketches.

I recently got the PTI set Oopsie Daisy and the matching dies.  When I looked at the the largest flower in the set I immediately thought it would work perfectly for the sketch with the circular element.  I die cut the flower and then stamped the outline image of the flower using teal ink.  Two of the petals were cut away and the remaining petals were then stamped using golden yellow, bright pink and deep pink inks.  To make sure the large sentiment was stamped in the correct spot I placed the flower where I wanted it and then stamped the word (from Wet Paint III) using teal ink.  The remainder of the sentiment was stamped in black ink.  After stamping the sentiment I put the cardstock piece in a dots embossing folder and did some partial embossing using my trusty craft mallet.  Once that was done I adhered the flower and then added a Spring Rain button/twine embellishment. The piece was mounted on a light grey card base.

CMCC #26.. sparkle

Hello friends!!  Wednesday has arrived and that means time for a new Colour Me...! challenge.  This week is a little bittersweet as this is my final posting as a member of the Colour Me...! team.  I want to thank Tara and Hayley for letting me be a part of the very first Colour Me...! design team.  It has been so much fun and I have enjoyed the challenge of creating something each week to show case all the color combos!  This week is a combo that I really, really like... yellow, green, turquoise/aqua and dark brown (SU! colors:  Delightful Daffodil, Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise and Pear Pizzazz).  All the details can be found on the Colour Me...! blog.   The design of my card is based on the current Sketchbook Saturday layout.  The challenge at Addicted to Stamps & More is "anything goes" so I will be adding this to their gallery, too.
I used stamps from the Precious Remembrance Shop set New Day.  I stamped the brushstroke image in the yellow green and turquoise inks using the generational stamping method to get that gradient look.  The sentiment was stamped using the dark brown in.  Some clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh finished things off.

Please check out the projects created by my fellow teamies Tara, Hayley, Sam, Katie, Brenda and June guest designer, Shirley!

Thanks for stopping by... I hope you will check out my post over on the Precious Remembrance Shop blog.  Here is a little peek of the card that I am sharing:

dreams...

Hey there... hope things are good in your world!  We are having some lovely summer weather today and hopefully it will carry through the week!   Have a card to share for the current CAS(E) this Sketch challenge that uses the colors from the current Reverse Confetti color challenge.  Love the CTS layout... I made another card using it and the Fuson inspiration photo that I will be sharing this coming week.

One of my favorite Reverse Confetti sets is Paper Crane and I am absolutely in love with the RC Tag Me dies (the large tag is pretty much my "go to" die for making tags right now!) so I used both for my card.  I partially embossed the yellow cardstock panel using my trusty crafting mallet and a woodgrain embossing folder.  Stamped the crane on some red SU! designer paper and trimmed it out.  Layered everything up and then finished with some black/white baker's twine and some enamel dots.

smile...

{for my PRS hop post, click here; for my Colour Me..! post, click here or scroll down}

Hey there... have a card to share for a couple of challenges:  ColourQ and Seize the Sketch.
This was an interesting sketch for me to work with.  The little strip across the top kinda threw me off, but I think my decision to use some baker's twine instead of a strip of paper was a good one.  The stamps and dies are from Clearly Whimsy Stamps (Travel 2).  I just love that cute little camera... so happy it has a matching die!  To keep things from bulking up too much I embossed the rectangle (Spellbinders long plain rectangle die) on my kraft cardstock instead of using a cardstock piece.  The blue baker's twine isn't a super close match for the blue in the ColourQ combo, but it works!

{for my PRS hop post, please scroll down or click here}

Hey there!!!  We have made it back around to Wednesday and that means time for a brand new color combo over at Colour Me...!  This week we have some fun soft, summery colors to work with:  medium pink, light pink and light aqua (SU! colors:  Strawberry Slush, Pink Piroutte and Pool Party!  All the challenge details can be found at the Colour Me...! blog.
With this card I'm also playing along with the current AEI{heart}U challenge to make your own designer paper.  I pulled out my AE Love Notes set and stamped the globe in all the Colour Me...! colors.   To fill in the gaps I added the little hearts.  The sentiment (also from Love Notes) was stamped in black and trimmed out.  I adhered the little heart tag, the sentiment and rounded two corners to finish things off.

Precious Remembrance Shop New Stamps Release!!

Hey there!!  There is a new stamp set being released today by Precious Remembrance Shop (Woohoo!!) and the design team is having a hop to celebrate!! YAY!!  You should have gotten here from the blog of the super talented Sue Lelli.  If you didn't, please head over to the PRS blog and start from the beginning... there is a chance to win the fun new set "Oh So Fun"!   Here is a look at this yummy new set:

and here is my card:

I used some fun papers from the American Craft/Amy Tangerine Cut & Paste 6x6 pad.  I stamped the largest jar image so it would include the large heart and then trimmed it out.  The lid was stamped on some grey paper from the pad, trimmed out and popped up.  I then stamped the label and sentiment (they are two separate stamps) on the jar.  The sentiment was stamped a second time using bright pink ink, trimmed out and adhered.  I added the pink twine and a little wooden heart that I died with the same bright pink ink.   The interior of the card was finished with a strip of the heart paper that I added the banner and sentiment to.  Here is a shot of the inside:

Okay... your next stop on the hop is the super talented Kim Bell!!  As I mentioned above there is a chance to win this fun new set and here are the details:

happy birthday...

Hey there!!  Feels like ages since I made a card... well it has been a few days!  My little guy turned 8 on 14th of June and I had to spend most of my time getting ready for the party.  He had a great time with his best buddies and cousins so the lack of crafting time was all worth it!  But I did get a chance to make something for several challenges this morning:  PTI's Make It Monday and Color Throwdown
When I saw Ashley's MIM technique "baby wipe stamping" I really wanted to give it a try.  Combining it with Color Throwdown gave me that chance.  I used one of my favorite PTI sets Turning a New Leaf (thanks, Greta, for the idea to use it!), as well as Bigger Blooms.  I split up the colors and created one pad using Coastal Cabana and Kiwi Kiss reinkers; the other pad using Regal Rose and Pink Pirouette reinkers and then stamped away.  I really like the soft effect you get from using a baby wipe and the reinkers... makes me thankful that I made the decision to get reinkers when I buy my SU! ink pads!!  I'm not super happy with all the white space I left on the card... it makes things a bit unbalanced, but overall I do really like the card.

i {heart} you...

Hey there!  Have a little card to share that I made for a couple of challenges:  AAA Cards:  Enjoy and CASology - Anniversary (I'm kinda stretching that one a little, hee!).   After some fits and starts with this one (that seems to be happening ALOT lately!) I finally came up with a card that I really like.

I used the arrow die from Reverse Confetti to cut my arrows in the AAA Cards color combo and then adhered then to the card front as you see... per the sketch.  The sentiment is from the Precious Remembrance Shop set "Thanks".   To bring a bit more attention to the sentiment I stamped it directly under the last arrow using black ink.   This is a bit of a stretch for an anniversary card, but I think it does get right to the point, ha!

CMCC #24... life is...

Hey there!!  Only a couple more days and my kiddos are out for summer!! But in the meantime there is a brand new challenge up at Colour Me..! and we have some fun summery kinda colors to work with:  meduim green and meduim blue.  The SU! colors are Marina Mist and Pear Pizzazz two of my very favorite shades of green.  All the details can be found on the Colour Me...! blog.

Last week I got some yummy new Clearly Whimsy Stamps in the mail and I'm using one of these sets today (Travel 1).   The layout is based on the sketch for last week's Freshly Made Sketchs.  The road image was stamped in the two inks and then die cut using an MFT Fishtail Flag Stax die.  After stamping the road again using black ink I die cut the cardstock using the large tag from the Reverse Confetti Tag Me die set.  Stamped the car, trimmed it out and added it to the tag.  Once that was done I added sentiment.  Everything was adhered and then the final portion of the sentiment stamped.  As this fits the current Addicted to CAS challenge:  transport, I will be adding it to that challenge, as well.

hey there... sunshine!

Hey there!!  We have been enjoying some sunshine in my neck of the woods.  The kiddos have only one week of school left and they are counting down the days!! Can't believe how fast the school year has gone by.  My oldest survived his first year of high school... YAY!  I can't tell you how happy I am that his is attending the same high school that I did.  Anywhoo... I do have a card to share.  This one is for CASology (shine) and Time Out (Summer with a twist, but I didn't include the twist).

I recently purchased some Amy Tangerine products (from the Cut & Paste line) from Peachy Cheap (I love Peachy Cheap! Check them out here for their daily deals on papercrafting products.) and one of the items was a set of wood veneer pieces.  I decided to use one, along with a piece of patterned paper from the 6x6 pad.  The stamps are from the Clearly Whimsy Stamps set Happy Hello.  The patterned paper was cut and matted with some rustic white cardstock and then adhered to a kraft card base.  The speech bubble tag was adhered and the sentiment "hey there" stamped inside.  I stamped the sun, trimmed it out, adhered yellow sequins in the center and then adhered it to the tag.  Super simple.

learn...

Hey there!!   Have a card to share that I made for a couple of challenges.  Honestly, this card (and another one I made and will share at a later date) almost didn't get made.  I don't know about you, but I have many, many days when I have lots of ideas, but when I try to execute them nothing works out.  I had one of those days yesterday.  I had several ideas for cards, but they all ended up in the "round file", lol!  After those failures it was close to time for me to pick my little guy up from school.  Once we returned (after a short trip to the playground so he could play with this best bud) I decided to try again and YAY... I got two cards made!   This one is for ColourQ and CAS(E) this Sketch.

I hadn't made anything with my favorite Precious Remembrance Shop set DIY in AGES and so I got that out and used a lot of the different sentiment segments to create my card.  Once all the sentiment stamping was done I added the little splats in the various ColourQ colors... but something was missing.  Dry embossing??? Maybe, but I didn't want to emboss the whole thing, only portions.  So I did a test run of an idea I had with a piece of scrap cardstock and I liked what I saw. The idea involved an embossing folder and a small mallet.  So I did it on my stamped piece... absolutely love the look!!  After that was done I mounted the piece on a pale blue cardstock base.
