Thank you... so very much

Hello!  Popping in with a last minute card for this month's Altenew Inspiration challenge, as well as the current Fusion challenge (I used colors and the leaves as my inspiration and did not use the sketch... obviously!).   Just the other day I received some happy mail from Altenew in the form of the Leaf Canopy stamp and die set.  I have wanted this bundle for ages and finally got to make it mine!  So obviously I used it to make my card, lol!   I stamped the outline images from the set on some off white cardstock using a dark taupe ink.  I then stamped the solid images using a medium yellow ink.  To bring in the orange I pounced the solid image with orange ink to create a blended look on the leaves.   The sentiment was stamped in the same dark taupe color.  Splatters of dark brown watercolor paint were added along with the yellow and orange sequins.   Can't wait to make something else with this fabulous stamp set!  Decided to post this to the current Time Out challenge to be inspired by words in the quote below as I think this card fits.

Have a wonderful day!

Precious Remembrance Shop New Release Hop!

Hey everyone!  Today is an exciting day as Precious Remembrance Shop has a new stamp set out today called Everyday and it is perfect for creating cards for all occasions.   To celebrate the design team is having a blog hop and there is a chance for one lucky person to win this new set!  All the details can be found at the end of this post.   You should have arrived here from Kelly's blog.  If you didn't, please head over to the Precious Remembrance Shop blog where all the fun starts!  For my card today I decided to create a feminine anniversary card and used the hearts background image from the Everyday set along with two of the flowers from the Blossom stamp set.   I started by embossing the heart background image from the Everyday set in white on white cardstock and then blended on some Wilted Violet distress oxide ink.  When I had the coverage that I wanted I wiped off the excess ink and then die cut the image with a label die.   I embossed the flowers and flower stems from the Blossom in white on vellum and then trimmed out the flowers and just the leaves from the stems.  I then arranged and adhered all the pieces on a piece of white cardstock that I die cut with a large rectangle die.  To finish things off I die cut a thin fishtail banner from vellum, stamped it with watermark ink and then embossed the sentiment in white.  The banner was trimmed down and adhered to the label with glue dots.   Love the super clean and simple design.  Your next stop on the hop is my sweet friend and fellow teamie Greta and I know she will have something fabulous to share.   Here is a look at this fun new set:

October PTI Blog Hop

Hey there!!  Today is the 25th and that means it is time for PTI's monthly blog hop.  I didn't think I was going to get something made for the blog hop as I have been working on other things, but this morning after I dropped my kiddo off at school I remembered that about a year ago I got a bee in my bonnet and decided to die cut all the pieces in the Make It Market Color Pop: Autumn mini kit.  Once I had everything die cut (and that took awhile, lol!) I decided to create some card fronts with them.  I'm glad that I remembered I had those ready made card fronts because once I found then I was able to put
together my card very quickly by simply pulling out one that had colors similar to those in the inspiration photo, added my sentiment (from the Bigger Blooms stamp set) and adhere the piece to a Weathervane cardstock.   I didn't focus on the obvious colors of the pumpkins, but decided to pull out colors that aren't so obvious like the red berries and the greens, blues and greys in the photo.  So now I have another birthday card that will work perfectly for a guy.  Yay for quick and easy cardmaking!

Hope you have a wonderful day and happy hopping!

let your dreams...

Hey there!  Hope all is well in your world.   I'm popping in with a card for two challenges:  The Card Concept and Fusion.  Both challenges happen to have a similar feel to them... non-traditional Halloween/Fall and so I thought I would combine them on my card.  I did not use pumpkins (which are featured in both inspiration photos), but feathers.  As a nod toward the Card Concept photo I stamped my feathers (from the February My Monthly Hero kit) in two shades of pink and then inked up portions of each feather with VersaMark watermark ink, applied gold embossing powder and then heat set.  A piece of white cardstock was die cut and then splattered with a light blue/green acrylic paint that I thinned down with water.   When the panel was dry I arranged my feathers per the sketch from the Fusion challenge.  The sentiment was stamped in VersaFine CLAIR Morning Mist ink.  To bring in the crystals found on one of the pumpkins in the Card Concept photo and the color blue from the Fusion photo I added Pretty Pink Posh light blue crystals randomly around the feathers.   I'm going to admit that I often struggle with the categories at the Card Concept, but I think this one would fit into the Clean and Layered category.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

spread your wings..

Hey there!  Popping in with a card for a few challenges:  Freshly Made Sketches, Color Throwdown and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (animal antics).   I have several My Monthly Hero kits I have hardly touched since receiving them and I decided that I needed to remedy that situation so I pulled out the stamps and dies from the  February 2018 kit along with an add-on stamp set that I purchased at the same time to create my card.  Originally I was going to use the feather stamps and dies, but decided instead to use the fun birds nest die along with one of the silhouette bird images from the set.  I die cut the bird's nest from kraft cardstock and then popped up the little leaves in the nest.  I stamped the bird using a medium green ink and then the little branch using a darker green ink.  Both were die cut with their respective dies and then all the pieces adhered together.   The bird/nest piece was placed on a die cut piece of white cardstock so I could determine where to place the sentiment and then removed so the sentiment could be stamped in kraft colored ink.  The sentiment is from the add-on stamp set.  The whole piece was then popped up on the panel with foam tape per the layout from Freshly Made Sketches.   A super clean and simple design.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

a couple simple cards...

Hey there!  Found some time to create a couple of simple cards for several challenges.   First up is a card for the current CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  For this card I used the dies from the Spellbinders September small dies kit as well as a die from the August small dies kit.   The papers I used are from an older My Mind's Eye paper pad called Happy Haunting.  I cut one of the papers to fit the front of my card.   The ornate label (from the August small dies kit) was die cut from coordinating paper as was the circle.   I trimmed a strip of paper so that the spider was on one end and then matted that piece with some black glitter cardstock from Lawn Fawn.  The sentiment (from the AJVD Witch & Famous stamp set) was stamped and then  I adhered the label to the main panel.   The strip was adhered along with the orange circle.  The cat and bats were die cut from the black glitter cardstock and adhered to the card as shown.  I'm not huge on Halloween, but I really like how this card turned out.

The next card is for this month's Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash challenge of Thanksgiving or Friendship.  I went with the friendship theme and used the older RC stamp set called Love Blooms.  I'm also adding this to Freshly Made Sketches and Color Throwdown as I used the layout and colors from those two challenges for the card.   The wreath (RC Wreath Confetti Cut) was die cut from dark brown cardstock three times.  When I made the last cut all the little interior pieces remained in the wreath and so I left it that way.  The two other wreaths were then adhered on top.  I stamped the outline of the flowers using orange, rust and yellow inks and then did second generation stamping for the solid stamping of the flowers.  The flowers were die cut and adhered to the wreath.  I arranged the wreath on my die cut kraft cardstock piece, placed the sentiment in the center of the wreath and then removed the wreath so I could do the stamping.  Adhered the wreath when that was done, adhered the panel to my card base and then added Stardust Stickles to the center of the flowers and along the wreath.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

so very thankful...

Hey there!  I hope you have been having a good week.  I'm popping in with a card for a couple of challenges:  The Paper Players and Where Creativity Meets C9.  I didn't get around to playing along with WCMC9's challenge last month.  It is funny how I always think I have so much time to play along and then suddenly the 29th of the month is right around the corner!  But this time I got a jump on things because I already had one of the elements on my card already done.    A few weeks ago I had been playing around with alcohol inks and one of the pieces I created I wasn't wild about so I decided to die cut it with the large leaf die from the C9 Thankful Leaves die set.   I liked it much better that way, but didn't make anything with it at the time.    After completing some design team projects and a couple other cards I decided that I wanted to make another card with the Thankful Leaves Turnabout set and that leaf I had die cut.  The WCMC9 challenge to layer was the perfect opportunity.  There is lots of layering going on with this card... layering of die cuts, images, ink, lol! And the theme at the Paper Players is trees and leaves... another perfect opportunity!  So I started by stamping the turnabout image on off white cardstock using two inks... Stampin Up!'s Crumb Cake and River Rock.  I then cut apart the large leaf die and die cut the leaf from some pumpkin color glitter cardstock and adhered the two leaves together.  The leaf was laid on the stamped panel so I could determine placement of the sentiment, removed and the sentiment stamped with VersaFine CLAIR Acorn ink.   The panel was die cut with a rectangle die and adhered to a River Rock card base.  I then adhered the leaf and twine bow.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

happy birthday leaves...

Hello!  Hope you are having a great day!  I'm popping in with a card that I made for a couple of challenges:  Freshly Made Sketches and Color Throwdown.   I haven't played along with Color Throwdown in weeks and that made me sad so this week I found the time to play along... YAY!   A few months ago I purchased a stamping tool that will allow me to create cards using Concord & 9th's fun turnabout stamp set.   Once I had the tool in hand I promptly purchased the Concord & 9th Thankful Leaves Turnabout stamp and die set and used the set for my card.  Since there are only three colors in the CTD palette I used a very light gray (Simon Says Stamp Fog) to fill in the spots left after I had stamped the three colors.   I love the way the light gray stamping filled in the spots but still stayed in the background.   Once that stamping was done I trimmed the piece in two so now I have one more panel to use to make another card!   The sentiment is from the C9 Happy Day stamp set and was stamped in the three colors on a thin strip of cardstock that was then backed with a strip of silver glitter cardstock.  The strip was adhered to a light gray cardstock base (SSS Fog) and then the stamped panel was adhered using foam dimensionals.  Love the clean and simple look of this card.

Hope you have a wonderful day!
