Thanks for stopping by...
Supplies: Cardstock: Recollections white, Simon Says Stamp fog; Stamps and dies: PaperTrey Ink; Inks: Stampin Up! So Saffron, Hello Honey and Pool Party; Hero Arts Latte chalk ink; Crystal Stickles
I used the circles cover plate die and cut it from SU!'s Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink. I then layered the Pretty in Pink die cut behind the Melon Mambo creating the shadow effect. The rest of the card was made using Oopsie Daisy and Friendly Flowers. I die cut the flowers from Oopsie Daisy and then stamped the large outline flower from the set using Real Red. The petals were added using Pumpkin Pie. The reverse was done on the smaller flower. The two were layered and a black enamel dot added. The cover plate die cut was adhered to the card base, a strip of white cardstock stamped with the sentiment was added along with the flower.
When I saw Ashley's MIM technique "baby wipe stamping" I really wanted to give it a try. Combining it with Color Throwdown gave me that chance. I used one of my favorite PTI sets Turning a New Leaf (thanks, Greta, for the idea to use it!), as well as Bigger Blooms. I split up the colors and created one pad using Coastal Cabana and Kiwi Kiss reinkers; the other pad using Regal Rose and Pink Pirouette reinkers and then stamped away. I really like the soft effect you get from using a baby wipe and the reinkers... makes me thankful that I made the decision to get reinkers when I buy my SU! ink pads!! I'm not super happy with all the white space I left on the card... it makes things a bit unbalanced, but overall I do really like the card.
I used PTI Polka Dot Parade #12. It is the only Polka Dot Parade set I own, but now I'm thinking that maybe I should pick up a few more. I stamped the candles using the ColourQ colors and then used the corresponding die to deboss around three of the candles. Thought about doing all of them, but decided to just be lazy and do only three, lol! Finished things off by stamping the word "WISH" on a die cut fishtail banner, tied on the baker's twine in matching colors and then added the "Make a" portion. The debossing is kinda hard to see so I have included a detail shot that hopefully shows it up better.
First up is my card for ColourQ and the current Make It Monday challenge. I used one of the large words from the PTI Wet Paint set and two circular designs from the PTI Bits & Buttons set. Following Heather's instructions I stamped the word in VersaMark, applied the clear embossing powder and heat set it. Then I stamped away using the brown, turquoise and aqua colors. Once I finished stamping those colors I stamped a few circles using Delicata Golden Glitz ink and then carefully wiped the ink of the sentiment. I added a few sequins in turquoise, aqua and clear before mounting the card on the turquoise card base.
The second card was made using the Julie Ebersole watercolor technique from the Online Card Class and the colors from the current Color Throwdown challenge, lime and bright pink. For my card I used Ranger Distress inks in Picked Raspberry and Peeled Paint. Both colors were applied to my craft mat and spritzed with water. The dots were stamped using a clean pencil eraser. Because I was only stamping with two colors I didn't put down as many dots as I might have. After the dots were stamped I die cut the piece with a TE butterfly and then added the silver sequins. Mounted everything on a white cardstock base. I'm also popping this one into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge: die crazy since I used a die to cut my butterfly.
After finally finding a PTI stamp set that I could use for the MIM challenge (Botantical Silhouettes) I got out my Gelatos and got to work. I used Gelatos in two different shades of orange unfortunately after spritzing the stamp with water and then stamping you can't really tell I used two. The stems were stamped using SU!'s Gumball Green. I rubbed some green Gelato onto on of my acrylic blocks, spritzed it with water and then stamped it at the bottom to ground the flowers. Some New Leaf double stitched ribbon and the sentiment finished things off. The card base is SU!'s Smoky Slate.| Version #1 |

Hello friends!! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I know my boys did and mine wasn't too bad, either. Playing along with the PTI December blog hop, as well as the current PTI Make It Monday... ala carte. There were so many fun MIM challenges to choose from, but I decided to have a go at creating a flocked look with dimensional paste, MIM #113. Working with the dimensional paste was fun, but a bit frustrating... don't even want to say how much cardstock I ruined before I got a piece worth using, lol!
I only a few PTI sets that would work for the challenge and all of them are from Dawn McVey's Boutique Borders line. So I pulled all of them out to see which one I might use. I created a square using Boutique Borders Thanks and stopped right there as I really liked what I saw. Then I decided to pair that set up with Simply Jane to create my very simple and kinda old school card. The square was stamped using Crumb Cake ink and the silhouette with Always Artichoke. After adhering the die cut silhouette I added some pearls in a kraft color for a bit of bling. The sentiment was stamped in black and the entire piece matted with an artichoke colored cardstock and mounted on a kraft card base.
