a card and a tag...

Hey there!!  Hope all is well with you.  As my post title indicates I have a card and a tag to share.  The card is for the current MFT sketch challenge and the current MFT color challenge.   Lots of stamping and die cutting on this one.  After I got all the flowers (from Plentiful Petals)stamped and cut I die cut the big smile from white cardstock and trimmed it down to fit the card front that was die cut with an AJVD Elegant Stitched Dot border die.  I used repositionable adhesive to help me make sure I got the flower where I wanted them before adhering them down with permanent adhesive and adding the die cut smile on top.  The you're awesome was embossed in white, trimmed down and adhered as shown.  The finished panel was then adhered to a light gray cardstock base.  Think I will also add this to the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes.

The tag is for day one of Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist.  Jennifer McGuire shared some amazing tags with a 3D element and I just had to give it a try.  I thought the large star from the AJVD Stitched Stitched Dot Stars die set would work well for the 3D element.  I die cut it from three papers from the Echo Park Twas the Night Before Christmas 6x6 pad, scored them and adhered them together.  The tag was die cut using the AJVD Minnie Pearl tag.  I die cut it from more paper from the Twas the Night Before Christmas pad and then from dark green cardstock.  The two tags were adhered together and I stamped the To and From (from the AJVD To/From mini stamp set) on the back.  The star was adhered along with a little bow/bell embellishment.  Some red and green bakers twine was looped through the slot at the top to finish things off.  One tag down... eleven to go!!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

sharing some tags

Hello!!  Stopping in with a couple of tags that I made for Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas with a feminine twist.  I am not a huge maker of tags, but all of the tags that have been showcased on the CLASSroom blog really inspired me to make a few. I made tags using ideas from days two and three.  Day two was all about sparkle and using glitter and Julia and Kay provided some amazing inspiration.  I was definitely inspired by Julia's gorgeous tag and I was going to use a die cut covered with glitter, but both of my tries turned out badly so I decided to switch to using glitter cardstock.  Hopefully that is okay.  I die cut the tag from some thin chipboard and then covered it with some paper die cut with the same tag.  A tag was die cut from silver cardstock and then the bottom half was die cut using a stitched border die from A Jillian Vance Design.  I edged the tag with some Brilliance light blue ink and then I adhered the silver glitter cardstock.  A snowflake (from AJVD) was die cut from blue glitter cardstock and adhered to the tag.  The sentiment (from A Jillian Vance Design) was stamped and then trimmed out.  Each piece was edged with silver ink and then adhered to the tag.  Finished things off with some silver tinsel trim.

The second tag is uses the day 3 technique to use foiling. The inspiration tags provided my Carissa and Joni are just gorgeous!  I took my inspiration for this tag from Joni's beautiful design.   I die cut the holly swirl from AJVD from sticky back fun foam, the backing removed and then gold foil applied.  I then die cut some small poinsettias (from AJVD) from red foiled cardstock.  The tag (from AJVD) was die cut from thin chipboard and then covered with some patterned paper die cut with the same tag die.  The foil covered holly swirl was adhered to the tag and then the little poinsettias added.  Finished with the sentiment (from AJVD) and some thin red ribbon and gold thread tied in a bow.  I really, really, really like how both tags turned out!  I'm also going to add these to Lori's Vision of Sugarplums challenge.  Lori is doing her annual Visions of Sugarplums showcase.  If you have checked it out, you really should.  She has lots of fun prizes and a long list of talented guests including my friend Greta!

Hope you have a wonderful day...

A Christmas Tag...

Hey friends!!  Popping in with a tag I made for several challenges.  I have never taken part in Ellen's 12 Tags with a feminine twist challenge mainly because I have never been much into making tags.  But this year I have made several tags and I'm really enjoying it so I thought I would play along.  I'm also going to post this to the current Memory Box challenge, the current Essentials by Ellen Mix It Up challenge (Memory Box) and the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (tags).  My tag is inspired by Kittie's gorgeous tag from day 2 of 12 Tags and the sketch provided on day 9.  After I die cut the tag from cardstock and patterned paper (from My Mind's Eye) I adhered the two together.  The poinsettia was made using the Memory Box Poinsettia Bloom Trio and the landscape pieces were cut using the MB Country Landscape border die.  The landscape pieces were cut from some woodgrain patterned paper from My Mind's Eye, trimmed and then layered on the tag with the top layer adhered with foam dimensionals.   The poinsettia was created using all three blooms from the die and then some Diamond Stickles added to the center.  The leaves were also cut using the same die.  I adhered the poinsettia and then used to words/phrases from the Essentials by Ellen Merry & Bright set to create my sentiment.  I added a bit of Diamond Stickles to the tops of the houses, the tree and some of the ground and then finished things off with the green ribbon and twine bow.

Thanks for stopping by today...
