Yeti for Christmas???

Hey there!!  Popping in with a last minute card for the current MFT sketch challenge.  When the MFT set Beast Friends came out I thought it was super cute especially since I love watching shows about Big Foot, the Yeti, etc.   But I kept putting off getting the set until recently because my crafting dollars are limited and there is so much to buy!   I colored up my little Yeti in traditional Big Foot/Yeti colors of shades of brown.  Once he was done I die cut him with the matching die and then colored up the trees and the little santa hat that he is wearing.  I inked up my background with Salty Ocean and Broken China distress oxide inks and then splattered on some water to create "snow".  The hills were die cut with my AJVD Slippery Slope dies and adhered to the panel after I die cut it with a Stitched Dot rectangle die.  The upper corner was trimmed off with a AJVD border die.   I layered up all my elements and then adhered the sentiment that I heat embossed in white on black cardstock.  AS you can see I'm still working on my coloring technique with colored pencils, but I like how my little Yeti turned out!

Have a wonderful day!

DeNami Design Theme Challenge #2 - Summer

A super quick card I made for the current DeNami Design theme challenge, summer.  I used DeNami's cute little set of tropical drinks for the card, as well as some Stampin Up! designer paper.  The card layout is based on the current clean&simple sketch, FTL 96.   I simply cut the dp to fit the card front, matted it with cardstock and adhered to the card front.  I stamped one of hte cute little drinks on white cardstock with Tuxedo Black ink, colored it with several different Prisma pencils and the blender pencil and it was trimmed out.  The sentiment from Close to my Heart was stamped in Tuxedo Black and the little drink attached to the card front.

Thanks for taking a look!   Will be back later with a 2nd card for the challenge.

ODBDSLC16 - Sketch Challenge

A card today for ODBD's current challenge to use the sketch they provided.  Several weeks ago I was fortunate enough to have Random.org pluck my name from the entrants for ODBDSLC14 and I won a ODBD gift certificate!  I'm using one of the sets that I purchased using that gift certificate:  Grow in Grace.   I have had my eye on that set (and alot more) for a loooong time and was so excited to finally get it!  I used more papers from the DCWV mat stack The Linen Closet and some completely YUMMY satin ribbon from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I stamped the sentiment on some PTI white shimmer cardstock that I die cut with a Spellbinders large scallop circle die in SU!'s Baja Breeze ink.  I then stamped the dogwood image next to it using Memento's London Fog.  The image was stamped again on PTI's white cardstock, colored with my Prisma pencils and gamsol, trimmed out and then adhered over the first image using SU! dimensionals.

I did a bit of distressing on all the patterned paper pieces using CTMH's Parchment ink, which is a great choice to use for light distressing.   Finished the card off with the beautiful ivory satin ribbon from Stamp Simply and some light blue rhinestones.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

FTTC69

Wow! For the second week in a row I have had a chance to do the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge!  This week's challenge is to make a one layer card.  When I read the challenge I immediately knew I would use my favorite Flourishes set:  Sweet Peas.  I adore that set and love to color it with my Prisma pencils and gamsol. In my estimation the Sweet Peas set from Flourishes is the best one out there in the stamping world!  I'm looking forward to getting Copic certified at the end of the month so that I can start coloring the image with my markers!

After coloring the image, I finished the card off with some SU! Certain Celery satin ribbon (LOVE that ribbon).  The sentiment is from the Flourishes set Sweet Violets.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Welcome to the Neighborhood - DeNami Sketch #2

Several weeks ago I went to the Heirloom's Stamp show at the Western Washington Fairgrounds in Puyallup, Washington.  While there I visited the DeNami Design booth and got to meet the lovely Paulina!   I also spent all of my money at the DeNami booth (and it wasn't a whole lot I had to spend....sigh!).   The current DeNami challenge is a sketch challenge.

My card took a bit of license with the sketch, but I love how it turned out.  The stamp I used is one that I purchased at the Heirloom's show.
I colored the birdhouses with Prisma pencils and gamsol.  I love coloring this way, but I'm so excited because at the end of June I will be taking the Copic Certification class in Seattle (actually Tukwila).

Thanks for taking a peek at my card.  I so appreciate your comments!
