Hello friends!  Wow... the week sure is speeding by... the weekend is almost here!   Haven't done a ton of crafting, but I did get a little card made for the current My Favorite Things Guest Designer contest (MFTGUESTDT0313).   And I managed to get it done a least a week and a half before the contest ends... YAY!!    For this card I got out a newer PI called Warm Wishes and did some coloring with my Copics.  Even though winter is almost over I really wanted to make something using this cute PI and the contest was the perfect venue!!  I'm really enjoying participating in the guest designer contest because it is giving me the opportunity to use my MFT products and it is pushing me to be a better paper crafter.

I had intended to do some paper piecing on her as well... but as I spent the time trying to get a close color match to the papers I had chosen to use (The Scrap Cake's Cozy Xmas) I decided that I was having too much fun coloring the image to do any paper piecing.   And can I just say that I am really, really happy with my coloring??  I think I'm finally getting the hang of coloring with my Copics, lol!!  I used the following Copics to color the image:  E11, E15, E21, E33, E50, E51, E53, R22, BG0000, BG11, & BG13.  After I finished coloring her I trimmed her out and added a bit of Ranger Old Paper Distress ink to the image.  The snowflake was die cut using a snowflake from the MFT set Let It Snowflake and the banner was cut using a Fishtail Flag Stax die.  The edges of all the cardstock and patterned paper were distressed to give the card a bit of a shabby look.  My picture doesn't really do her justice.  It is gloomy here in western Washington and I think it took me longer to get a decent picture of the card than it did for me to make it!!

Don't ya just love these "For the Love of Blog Hops"?   I know I do!!  If you got here from the uber talented Patter's blog, then you are on the right track.  If not, you will want to head back to the ODBD blog to start at the beginning.  This week I'm featuring stamps from the beautiful ODBD set Mother Teresa.   This set had long been on my wishlist and I finally got a chance to get it several months ago.  The waterlily image is so beautiful and the quotes from Mother Teresa are so very beautiful, as well.  I inked up the waterlily with Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copic markers and then trimmed out.  All the papers are from The Scrap Cake 6x6 pad My Private Happiness.   Because I wanted the waterlily to really take center stage on the card I finished off the interior with some patterned paper and one of the sentiments from the sent.

Hoo Loves You???

Hey there!!  Happy Sunday!  What a crazy weekend we have had here in W. Washington.  Yesterday it rained, then snowed, and then rained!!  All in the space of about 2 hours!!   The sun came out for a few hours and then it was back to rain.   Now it is raining, again... ugh!!  Oh well... that is Washington!  

Have a cheerful little card for two challenges:  Less is More and the Craft's Meow birthday celebration sketch challenge.  This week at Less is More Chrissie and Mandi are asking us to do some masking.  I don't often do masking and I'm not entirely sure why because it is super easy to do.  Anywhoo... for my card I used the cute Craft's Meow set "Owl Be Thinking of You".  I stamped the little girl owl using Tuxedo Black ink on white card stock.  I then stamped her again on some Eclispe tape (the best stuff for masking!), trimmed her out and then placed the mask over the original image.  I then stamped the boy owl so that he is positioned slightly behind his gal.  Both were colored with Copic markers (not the best coloring job, either).   There is a little image of hearts in the set and I stamped that above the owls, colored then with markers and then added some Diamond Stickles.   The image was die cut with a Spellbinders circle die, as was the mat.  I used a scrap of paper from the Scrap Cake "My Private Happiness" pad to mat the central panel.   The little banner was created by simply stamping the sentiment on a .5" x 5.5" strip that was scored at 1" from either end, folded and then trimmed to created the fishtail on either end.   Pretty simple card with lots of white space which should please Chrissie & Mandi.  As indicated above, this card is also for the Craft's Meow birthday celebration sketch challenge.  The Craft's Meow is celebrating it's first birthday March 17th - 20th.   In addition to providing sneak peeks of their new stamp sets, they are having lots of giveaways and challenges.  Make sure you check it out!

Daffodils....

Hey there!!!  Here with a card for the current Timeless Tuesday challenge.  This week the super talented Cindy is hosting the challenge and she has asked that we use scallops and lace on our projects.   When I saw the new Cardabilities sketch I knew it would be perfect for this challenge.

I used several Flourishes sets for this card (Year of Flowers 1, Orchids & Country Charm Borders).   The patterned papers are from the new The Scrap Cake 6x6 pad, My Private Happiness.  If you have never checked out The Scrap Cake, you really should.  They have some of the most beautiful patterned papers I have ever seen!   The daffodil image from YoF 1 was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black, then colored with Copic markers using the Flourishes Daffodil & Spring Greens combos (Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17, Y19, YG00, YG03, & YG06) and then trimmed out.  A plain circle was die cut using a small Spellbinders plain circle die and the sentiment (from Orchids) was stamped on it using SU!'s Pear Pizzazz ink.  A scalloped circle was die cut from Pear Pizzazz cardstock using a Spellbinders small scalloped circle die.   A scalloped border from the Country Charms Border set was stamped using SU!'s So Saffron ink and then trimmed out.  I used two different pieces of lace (both of which were gifts from my ODBD teamie, Sabrina) on the card, layering then as you see.  A bit of distressing was done to the main patterned paper panel, as well as the smaller strip.  After layering everything I adhered the circle and the daffodil image using foam dimensionals.  A couple of butterflies punched from the paper using a Martha Stewart butterfly punch completed the card.

I Love You....

Hey there!!!   Gotta card today for a couple of challenges:  CASE Study and the Shabby Tea Room.  The Shabby Tea Room challenge this week is to make a card based off of another beautiful inspiration photo and to incorporate mail or postage elements.   I think I got that aspect of the challenge covered, hee hee!!   With the beginning of a new month, there is a new muse over at CASE Study and this month the muse is an amazingly talented crafter named Karola Witczack.  I stumbled across Karola when I saw on a blog somewhere the most beautiful papers from a company called The Scrap Cake.  Karola was the designer of these gorgeous papers and once I saw them I had to have them!  Thank goodness I found a US based website called the Flying Unicorn that carries them.  I used some of those papers on my card.  Karola's inspiration card is absolutely GORGEOUS!!

For my card I used a Hero Arts/BasicGrey set called Carte Postal and a sentiment from the Year Round Sentiments set.  I stamped the stamp images on a piece of paper from The Scrap Cake 6x6 Cozy Xmas pad and then trimmed them out.  They were then distressed a bit.   Some additional paper from the Cozy Xmas pad was used as a mat for the cream cardstock piece that was stamped with additional postage elements in kraft and red inks.  The edges of this piece were light inked with Old Paper distress ink.  I finished the card off with some crocheted lace, red ribbon and three small pink roses.
