Merry Little Christmas...

Hey there!!  Stopping in with another Christmas card.  I made this with supplies from the awesome Simon Says Stamp Mint Wishes card kit.  I used the current sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for my card and will also be adding it to the current Dies R Us challenge to make a card based on a song.  As you can see my card is based on Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.  I stamped the house on white cardstock with Distress Oxide ink in Cracked Pistachio (came in the kit) and then overstamped the sentiment in VersaFine Smoky Gray.  The image was then die cut with a MFT oval die.  The little sprig of holly and the stars are puffy stickers from the card kit as well.  I adhered everything to some of the patterned paper from the kit that was die cut with an AJVD stitched dot rectangle die.  Also adding this to the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes and the SSS flickr challenge to make a Christmas/holiday project.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

tis the season...

Hello!!  Wow... November is almost history and now the Christmas crunch is on!  I still need a few more Christmas cards and so I used the current Merry Monday Christmas challenge, as well as the current WCMC9 challenge of Christmas.  I used the lovely Magnolia Wreath, again, along with the dies from the Season of Cheer die set.  I stamped the full wreath in the light green and then overstamped with VersaMark watermark ink, applied sparkle embossing powder and heat embossed.  I did not repeat that step with the rest of the stamping as I just wanted the main wreath to stand out a bit more.  The word season was die cut from blue glitter cardstock along with two more from scrap cardstock and adhered together.   Die cut the other pieces from white and silver cardstock and then get to work putting together the card.  Took a bit of arranging, but I got everything placed to my satisfaction.  I'm including a close up of the wreath so that you can see the sparkle.

Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Yeti for Christmas???

Hey there!!  Popping in with a last minute card for the current MFT sketch challenge.  When the MFT set Beast Friends came out I thought it was super cute especially since I love watching shows about Big Foot, the Yeti, etc.   But I kept putting off getting the set until recently because my crafting dollars are limited and there is so much to buy!   I colored up my little Yeti in traditional Big Foot/Yeti colors of shades of brown.  Once he was done I die cut him with the matching die and then colored up the trees and the little santa hat that he is wearing.  I inked up my background with Salty Ocean and Broken China distress oxide inks and then splattered on some water to create "snow".  The hills were die cut with my AJVD Slippery Slope dies and adhered to the panel after I die cut it with a Stitched Dot rectangle die.  The upper corner was trimmed off with a AJVD border die.   I layered up all my elements and then adhered the sentiment that I heat embossed in white on black cardstock.  AS you can see I'm still working on my coloring technique with colored pencils, but I like how my little Yeti turned out!

Have a wonderful day!

PTI November blog hop...

Hey there!!  Stopping in with a quick card for this month's PTI blog hop.  We were provided with a beautiful inspiration photo that got me thinking about my Make it Market Mini kit Color Pop: Autumn.   The base of this card actually got started back in the late spring/early summer when I was doing a little bit of organizing of my PTI products.  I decided to die cut all the pieces from the different Color Pop kits that I have and then took it further when I decided to use some of those pieces along with the pre-designed sheets and create some cards.  This card isn't all die cuts, though.  I did do a little bit of stenciling and stamping on the small leaves.  All I had to do was pick out a finished card front that I thought corresponded the best with the inspiration photo and then add my sentiment.   I chose the beautiful word dies from the Especially for You stamp and die set and cut them from gold glitter cardstock.   Adhered them to the card front and then added it to a kraft cardstock base and I was done!  I will also add this to the current Time Out challenge to be inspired by words.

Have a wonderful day and enjoy the hop!!

many thanks...

Hey!!  Hope everyone in the US had a wonderful Thanksgiving day!  Popping in with a card for the current Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights challenge, as well as the EE anniversary challenge to use your favorite EE stamp set.  For my card I used my favorite EE stamp set Mondo Hydrangea.   I really love that gorgeous big hydrangea in the set, but for this card I used only the leaf.  When I saw the pin-sights inspiration photo my eye was immediately drawn to the photo of the leaves in various different shades.   To create my variegated leaves I stamped the leaf multiple times on watercolor cardstock using VersaFine Vintage Sepia ink and then began watercoloring them with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.  In order to get the variation that I wanted I would color a leaf in one color then move on to the next leaf and so on.  As each leaf dried I would add more color and let it dry again.  It was a bit labor intensive, but I love how each leaf turned out.  Once they were mostly dry I die cut them with the matching die and then shaped the leaves so they would have some depth.   I did a wash of color in teal on a panel of watercolor cardstock and then die cut it once it was dry.  The sentiment is from the EE Fancy Thanks stamp set.  I did a few tests runs to make sure that I got the word many placed as close to the thanks as I could.  Once I had it set I stamped it on the panel with Vintage Sepia and then added the leaves.  To jazz things up a bit I added the twine bow and Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins in 3 sizes.
I think I will also add this to the current SIP challenge of thankful, grateful, blessed.  I'm adding this to the new Time Out challenge to be inspired by words.   See the beautiful quote below.

Hope you have a wonderful day!
