Button, Button...

Another weekend is gone and so is our good weather!  Back to yucky rain... oh well!  That's western Washington for you!   I have a card that is nice and bright to share.  I haven't done a Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger challenge in along time, but was really struck by the bright colors in the trigger photo and so decided to play along.  I'm also going to be putting this into the current CAS-ual Fridays challenge to use punches or dies.

Inside
My card is a take on a card I made that was published in the March 2012 issue of CardMaker magazine. Instead of using one color for the buttons as I did with the baby card, I used rows of buttons in the same colors as the cookies.  I then die cut the flower from white cardstock and added the rhinestone to the center to bring in the hint of sparkle you can see on the cookies.   I backed the white square with the dark grey cardstock to bring out the color of the buttons a bit more.    I decided to not put a sentiment on the front of the card, but instead finished off the interior with the sentiment.  I decided to stamp it using the new Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink making it a bit hard to see!  The sentiment says "Live in the sunshine" which I thought was very appropriate for the card.

Thanks for stopping by....

Getting Farm Fresh With A Waltzingmouse

The new sketch challenge over at the Waltzingmouse sketch blog is to make a set of small cards.   When I saw the challenge I knew it was the perfect for the current Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger:  Farm Fresh.  I drew my inspiration mainly from the color combo (to my eye orange and bright blue) and somewhat from the pattern that runs along one side of the towel.  I guess that is what inspiration is all about... seeing where it takes you.    But doesn't that towel just make you think of the freshness a spring day or a jar of flowers??

I used a medium sized flower from the Heartfelt Creations Flora Grande 2 set and two sentiments from the WMS set Frame It to make my set of "thank you" notes.  I had thought I would go with some buttons on the cards, as well, but they just didn't fit.  So I went with a few rhinestones instead.  I took a bit of liberty with the sketch, but, again, I suppose that is what inspiration is all about... seeing where it takes you.

Thanks for taking a peek...  hope you find some inspiration today!

Its Sunny the Tuesday Trigger Way...

Quickie post today with a card I made for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Tigger, An Idea In Yellow.  When I saw the trigger this week I just had to get something made.  The bright yellow door is what sparked my imagination.    I have seen lots of people making amazing cards using paper doilies and I just had to give it a try.   This is what I came up with (which has absolutely nothing to do with the trigger picture!!):

Its a bit outside my "box" but I really like it.  The only problem I see is how to mail it!  I suppose this card would fall into the category of "I'm going to deliver it by hand".  Anyway, I do love how the card turned out.

Thanks to taking a peek..

Less is More + A Tuesday Trigger

A short post today with a card for the new Less is More challenge to use three squares on your card.  I had been wanting to make something for the current Tuesday Trigger challenge over at Moxie Fab World but nothing was coming to me other than I wanted to use a flower of some sort.  When I saw the Less is More challenge the pieces fell into place.  This is a very simple, clean and graphic card with lots of white space... I love white space {grin}!

If you haven't tried Less is More you really must!   Everyone is so friendly and encouraging!  Hands down one of the nicest challenge blogs I have come across, ever!

Thanks for taking a peek...

Vintage {?} CR84FN...

My card today uses the current color combo from CR84FN12 combined with the current Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge to make it vintage and the current Card Patterns sketch.   My card, to a certain extent, is about as "vintage" as I can get.  I'm a CAS kinda girl and doing shabby chic/vintage is a real struggle for me.  To make my card fit the vintage idea I ink distressed the edges of the main panel with Ranger's Old Page distress ink.  I also inked the edges of the little flower that I made.  The stamped image (from Hero Arts - Classic Fabric Design) does have a very vintage sort of feel too it.  The addition of some crocheted lace and the pins add a bit more to the vintage look.

I flipped the Card Patterns sketch so that the circle element is on the other side of the card because I have a habit of tying my bows so they end up on the righthand side of the card!  For some reason a bow on the righthand side is just more pleasing to me.    Finally, I'm going to put this in the current Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger challenge as it fits that challenge, as well (sorry I don't have the Trigger graphic... I kinda ran out of room!).   And, eeekk!!  Cath picked my card from last week's Tuesday Trigger challenge as a trigger target!!  How cool is that????

Thanks for taking a peek...  have a Moxie Fab day!!

Tuesday Trigger...

A quick post with a card I made for the current Tuesday Trigger challenge at Moxie Fab.  When I looked at the trigger picture I was immediately drawn to the rosettes on the pillow and nothing else.  I like the idea of deconstructing something and wanted to take the image down even further..  So, I made three felt roses using this new rolled flower die that I got from My Favorite Things.   I'm still trying to get the hang of making the flowers look right, but I think these turned out pretty good.

I'm also putting this into the current City Crafter's challenge to make your own flowers.

Thanks for taking a peek....

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger - She Sells Sea Shells..

Another Hero Arts card today... this one for the current Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger challenge.  Initially I thought the challenge ended last Monday, the 9th, and was pretty bummed as I really wanted to give this trigger a go.    So I was pretty happy when I saw that the challenge ran through the 16th.   The shells were stamped in Encore gold ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  I really like how they turned out, as sometimes gold ink and/or embossing can look... well just a little too gold.   The pale pink was brought in to represent the pale pinkish color of the bottle.

Thanks for taking a peek.... hope you have a wonderful day!
