ice cream....

Hello friends!! Had a super busy weekend and wasn't able to get anything done for the new Less is More challenge.  So this morning I decided to get something done.  When I saw the new CAS challenge at Splitcoaststampers I decided to combine it with the Less is More challenge:  3-2-1.  As per Chrissie and Mandi's request to explain what you used 3 of, 2 of and 1 of, I used three stamps (ice cream scoop, cone & sentiment), two papers and one button.

The CAS challenge at Splitcoaststampers is "summer treats".  As I was thinking about what I had that I could use for the challenge I remembered that I had a set from the Stamps of Life called "scream4icecream" that would be perfect for that challenge.  Then I realized that it would also work for this week's LIM challenge and my idea was born.  I used some papers from two different BasciGrey pads:  Shine On and Serendipity.  I stamped the scoop using dark pink ink and the cone using brown ink and trimmed them out.  The come was adhered to the card front and then the scoop was adhered using foam dimensionals.  A bit of green bakers twine was tied through a button and adhered to the scoop to finish things off.  Not my most CAS card, but it will still work for the LIM challenge.

Thanks for stopping by....

Happy New Year!!

My first card, well... actually cards, of the year.  I have been wanting to make a card for the current Stamping Sisters In Christ challenge to make a card using inches.  When I was checking out my blogging friend Brenda's blog I saw that she had used a sketch provided by Lucy for a really sweet card she made.  I took a look at Lucy's sketch and my inchie card was finally born.   I ended up making two, though, because I was interested in seeing how the card would work two different ways.  There isn't alot different about them, but that slight difference gives each their own unique look.  The stamps are from The {Stamps} of Life Hearts2Love set. The color combo comes from the Play Date Cafe'.  Both cards will be dropped off with my local OWH shipper, Sandy, later this week.   Here is card #1:

And here is card #2:

Thanks for taking a peek... hope you will let me know what you think!  My personal favorite is card #1.

A Couple of Simple Fall Cards

I have a couple of simple fall cards today.  One for the current CAS challenge at Splitcoaststampers and the other using the current Clean & Simple sketch (FTL 106).

The first card is the CAS card I made for the Splitcoaststampers challenge.  I used the new {Stamps}of Life set, Spooks2Scare, that I just got in the mail on Saturday.   {Stamps}of Life has a monthly stamp club and if you join every month you automatically get the new stamp set sent to you.  Then on the 7th, Stephanie, the owner, reveals additional new sets for the month.  One of the best parts??? The stamps are good quality and inexpensive!!  Check'em out!

The second card I made using FTL106.  I really like the Clean & Simple blog and alot of my cards are made using Natasha's wonderful CAS sketches.  Yet another blog that if you haven't checked out, you really should!

Thanks for taking a peek.... hope you had a wonderful day!

Color Cue #6 - I {heart} U

A little card I put together using the current colors put forth by the very talented Dawn of WPlus9Design fame, Color Cue #6.  She always picks some of the loveliest color combos for her challenges.   If you haven't checked out Dawn's stamp sets yet, you really need to get yourself over to the WPlus9Design Studio website and take a look.  Dawn is releasing four new stamp sets this weekend.  Her projects are out of this world!

Thanks for taking a peek.... have a wonderful day!

DeNami Design Sketch Challenge #3

I made a little "beachy" card today using the sketch from the current DeNami Design challenge (sketch challenge #3).   The stamps are from the {Stamps} of Life set Summer4Fun.  The set is full of cute beach images like the sandcastle that I used for the card, as well as a surfboard and beach ball.   {Stamps} of Life has lots of other really cute sets that are reasonably priced and if you join the club you get lots of special perks.    Anywho..... back to my card.  I used Flower Soft for the first time on my card.  My LSS, Artco, started carrying Flower Soft six months or so ago.  When I got the Summer4Fun set I knew I need make a trip to the store and see if they had the Sand color... which they did.  I need to work on my technique with the glue, but overall I think the card turned out pretty well.

Thanks for taking a look and hope you have a wondeful day!

Getting My Kraft On - CWC011

The new challenge at CAS-tactic is to use kraft cardstock.  No problem here, I love to use kraft cardstock!  Like most good neutral cardstocks, kraft goes with pretty much EVERYTHING!   So today I used some PTI kraft cs (the best stuff!), along with PTI's Lemon Tart cs & the Lemon Tart pp from the Dotty Biscotti collection.   The stamp is a Hero Arts bicycle stamp that I bought awhile ago and finally decided to ink up.  Boy, was it a pain taking a picture of this card!  Took three separate photo shoots before I finally got one that I was satisfied with!

Thanks for taking a peek!  Hope you are having a wonderful day!

Hope Your Day....

A card today for the current CAS-tastic challenge (CWC009) to use blue, yellow and a neutral.  I had this little kite already stamped on some October Afternoon Thrift Store pp that fit the challenge perfectly.  The card layout is based on the current SCS CAS challenge.   The kite stamp comes from the {Stamps}of Life set Kites2Fly.   I used a sentiment from the SU! set Flight of the Butterfly for the tail of the kite.  The Kites2Fly set includes some little clouds and one of these days I'm going to remember to use them!

Thanks for taking a peek!  As the sentiment says: hope your day is as happy as happy gets!

Supplies:  Cardstock:  PTI white; SU! Not Quite Navy; yellow; PP - October Afternoon Thrift Store; Stamps:  {Stamps}of Life Kites2Fly; SU! Flight of the Butterfly; Ink:  Prussian Blue - Ranger Nick Bantock Col.

Flying High

Since October of last year I have been getting stamps from The {Stamps}of Life through their monthly club.  The stamps are clear stamps and all the sets are super cute.  The brains and creativity behind The {Stamps} of Life is Stephanie Barnard who is an absolute sweetie pie!  The set for June called Kites2Fly is super duper cute and I couldn't wait to make something with it!  When I saw the current sketch from Clean & Simple, FTL95 I knew immediately that I was going to use Kites2Fly for the sketch.  I stamped the kite on white cardstock and then again on patterned paper from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop 8x8 pad and did some paper piecing.  I hand drew the kite string, pierced the cardstock and then hand stitched the kite string with DMC floss.  I finished off the kite string by sewing on 3 tiny buttons.   I assembled the card and then used some more of the DMC floss to tie around the card.  I love how it turned out!

Thanks for taking a peek, I so appreciate those of you who take the time to leave me a comment!
